Shelter When she returned to the house, he was in the same position as she had left him. She had only been away to get some coffee and something for both of them to eat. During her absence he hadn't even touched the pile of newspapers she'd left on the kitchen table. April saw Mason's silhouette silhouetted in black in front of the bedroom window. He still looked as broken as he had the night before. She'd nearly had a heart attack when she'd found him sitting in the darkness of her living room. He had scolded her for disobeying him before he had even said goodbye: April had not gone to her aunt's as she had promised.
