    Ken and Corinne stood under the eave outside their motel rooms. Rain fell in steady sheets nearly obliterating the line of cars parked out front. Corinne tied her raincoat for a snug fit. “Thought we left Seattle behind,” she grumbled, popping an umbrella to protect her hair.     Ken raised the parka hood over his own dark hair. He chirped the doors unlocked on their Crown Vic. Turning to his partner. “Ready for this?” They ran to the car, thrust open the doors and slid onto the cold seats quickly. “God damn it, Corinne.
