Several townspeople sat on folding chairs in front of the temporary stage. Behind the bank of microphones sat Claremont dignitaries: the Mayor, three Council members, Graham Stellarman, and Bob Harmon. Mayor Clifford Ford welcomed everyone, thanked Graham Stellaman for spearheading the Crestwood Heights apartment complex behind them. The model tan and green building was tastefully designed. Two other buildings were in various stages of completion, not ready to lease yet. Landscape shrubs and trees enhanced the grounds. The freshly laid sod was an inviting green lawn. The Press had been guided on a tour of the finished apartment with smoke detectors, modern fixtures and cabinets installed. An enticing children’s playground was in a separate fenced enclosure.
