{"Some masterpieces are admired because they're beautiful.
Others... because no one survives knowing how they were created."
- Eclipse}
Monday mornings at the National Institute of Fashion and Design were never quiet.
Students hurried through the glass corridors balancing sketchbooks, coffee cups, fabric rolls, and dreams stitched together with sleepless nights.
Some argued over colour palettes.
Others panicked over unfinished garments.
And somewhere in the middle of the chaos...
Anaya smiled.
This was her world.
"You're smiling before class?" Urvashi frowned dramatically. "Should I call a doctor?"
"I'm just happy."
"You've officially become terrifying."
Anaya laughed, nudging her friend's shoulder.
"You say that every Monday."
"Because every Monday you look excited to be here."
"I am."
Before Urvashi could continue teasing her, the classroom doors opened.
Professor Elara walked in carrying a slim black folder.
The room instantly fell silent.
Without a word, she connected her laptop to the projector.
The lights dimmed.
A video began.
Rain.
Nothing but rain.
Then...
A figure slowly emerged from the darkness.
A man dressed in a charcoal overcoat walked through the empty streets of Paris as golden streetlights reflected across the wet pavement.
No dialogue.
No music.
Just silence.
Yet somehow...
No one looked away.
The camera slowly stopped on a close-up of his face.
Sharp features.
Calm expression.
Grey eyes that looked as though they carried years of stories they had never spoken aloud.
The screen faded to black.
Only two names remained.
Model
Adrien Laurent
Creative Director
Reyansh
The classroom erupted.
"Oh my God!"
"That's the new Nocturne campaign!"
"It crossed fifty million views in two days!"
"I heard luxury brands are fighting over Adrien's next contract."
Professor Elara smiled patiently.
"When most people watch this campaign..."
"They see Adrien."
She clicked the remote.
The frame froze on his eyes.
"I want you to look beyond the clothes."
"Beyond the model."
"What emotion do you see?"
"Confidence," one student answered.
"Power."
"Luxury."
"Mystery."
Professor Elara nodded after every answer before turning toward Anaya.
"And you?"
Anaya hesitated.
"...He looks lonely."
The room fell silent.
Professor Elara smiled.
"Interesting."
She walked toward the screen.
"Fashion is storytelling."
"A designer creates the vision."
"A model gives it life."
"But the soul..."
She tapped the name beneath Adrien's.
"...belongs to the creative director."
"Reyansh."
"A man the industry calls a genius."
"No interviews."
"No award speeches."
"No verified social media."
"Yet every campaign he directs becomes unforgettable."
She closed the presentation.
"For your next assignment, I don't want you to analyse clothes."
"I want you to analyse emotions."
"Find the story hidden beneath the fabric."
The bell rang.
Students immediately surrounded the projector, arguing over which campaign they would choose.
Anaya quietly packed her sketchbook.
For some reason...
She couldn't stop thinking about those eyes.
Not because they belonged to the world's biggest model.
But because...
They looked lonely.
Miles away...
Another studio buzzed with controlled chaos.
Camera flashes exploded every second.
"Perfect!"
"Hold that pose!"
"Excellent!"
The photographer lowered his camera with a satisfied grin.
"That's a wrap!"
Applause echoed through the studio.
Assistants hurried toward Adrien carrying water bottles, schedules and ringing phones.
He thanked each of them politely.
Professional.
Calm.
Reserved.
His manager walked over, tablet in hand.
"The campaign has broken another record."
Adrien simply nodded.
"What about tomorrow?"
"Magazine cover shoot in the morning."
"Brand meeting after lunch."
"And Reyansh wants to review the final edit tomorrow evening."
A brief silence followed.
Then Adrien finally asked,
"...Did you find the girl?"
His manager immediately understood who he meant.
"I'm afraid not, sir."
"We checked the hotel's CCTV."
"We traced every camera near the intersection."
"We questioned nearby staff."
"But after she walked away..."
"It's as if she disappeared."
Adrien looked out of the window.
The city lights reflected softly across the glass.
For the first time that evening...
A faint smile appeared.
"Interesting."
His manager looked puzzled.
"Should we stop looking?"
Adrien shook his head.
"No."
"She was the first person who looked at me..."
"...and saw a stranger instead of Adrien Laurent."
The manager smiled.
"I'll keep searching."
Outside...
Hundreds of fans screamed Adrien's name as his car rolled past them.
Inside...
The world's most famous model sat in complete silence.
Back home...
The warm aroma of fresh bread welcomed Anaya as she stepped inside.
"I'm home!"
"In the kitchen!" Mira called.
Anaya found her decorating a chocolate cake.
"You've been smiling all day," Mira teased.
"Something good happened?"
"We got our next assignment."
"Oh?"
"It's about famous fashion campaigns."
Mira continued piping frosting onto the cake.
"Sounds interesting."
"The campaign we watched featured Adrien Laurent."
For the briefest moment...
Mira's hands froze.
Only for a second.
Then she continued decorating the cake as though nothing had happened.
"I've heard that name before."
"Everyone has," Anaya laughed.
"Apparently he's the biggest model in the world."
Mira gave a small smile.
"Maybe."
"But remember..."
"Appearances rarely tell the whole story."
Anaya tilted her head.
"What does that mean?"
"Nothing."
Mira gently closed the cake box.
"I have one last delivery tonight."
"Again?" Anaya sighed.
"You work too much."
Mira chuckled.
"And yet you never complain when I bring home pastries."
"That's different."
"It always is."
The two shared a laugh before Mira picked up the cake box.
"I'll be back soon."
"Drive safely."
"I always do."
That night...
The apartment was unusually quiet.
Anaya sat at her desk, sketching ideas for her assignment.
She tried drawing the campaign she'd seen that morning.
Again.
And again.
No matter what she did...
She couldn't recreate the emotion hidden inside Adrien's eyes.
With a sigh, she closed her sketchbook.
Her phone vibrated.
Mira: Don't wait up. I'll be late tonight. Lock the door.
Anaya smiled.
Working too hard... as always.
She locked the apartment before switching off the lights.
Outside...
Rain had begun to fall.
Across the city...
A black SUV came to a stop before an abandoned warehouse.
Massive steel gates slowly opened.
Mira stepped out.
The warmth in her eyes had disappeared.
She walked forward with calm, unwavering steps.
Rows of men and women dressed entirely in black stood waiting.
The moment she entered...
Every single one of them lowered their heads.
Silence filled the warehouse.
A man stepped forward and handed her a sealed file.
"It's urgent."
Mira opened it.
Her eyes stopped on the photograph clipped to the first page.
Adrien Laurent.
Her grip tightened around the file.
For the first time in years...
The calm in her eyes cracked.
She whispered,
"...So it begins."
