Chapter Fourteen The curtain went up to a stirring round of applause. It was their final, sold out performance at the Old Vic and everyone agreed; they could easily have sustained another four nights. Anticipation was high; the word of mouth and the newspaper reviews had primed the audience for an extra special evening’s entertainment. Jill peeked out at the rows of dance enthusiasts from behind a perimeter curtain at stage left. The excitement filled the air with static and seemed to fuel her hunger. It was great being associated with a hit show. Jill had little to do beyond providing moral support after the curtain lifted. Chay was the Artistic Director and took full control of the show; directing her dancers from the wings where she was in constant contact with her lighting and sound
