Eden is in a dire situation, he cannot raise the shield at both arrows at the same time. The most logical decision would be to stop running, or running faster so that the arrows will miss, but the former will likely make him trip from the momentum, and the latter is impossible. Not to mention, these arrows can just change trajectory again like the first one and hit him anyway. Eden decides to risk it. He keeps running while raising his arms up, one hand holding the shield while the other is free, the wooden sword is in the wooden scabbard he was given just then.
