Any questions?" Lucas asked.
"Are there elders here?" Someone asked.
I turned to see it was Benedict. She raised her hand too?
The Benedict?!
Lucas turned to her too. He stared at her for a moment then smirked. But there was no joy in it.
"The Skirts killed them 10 years ago. We've got just us 'madam'" he says
"Where will the men sleep?" Another asked.
"On the roof" he says sarcastically before leaving. Did he mean we sleep mixed?.
"They'll kill us all!" Benedict said tearfully.
"That's the plan" Another male said. I turned to see it was Edward another Elite.
The others, started settling in.
I ignored Benedict and started settling in too.
By settling in, I mean we all got on our beds. The room was tight and hot. It wasn't all of us because I didn't see Odette and the rest.
I noticed this room was filled with elites. We are 6 in number
I knew all of them here. I knew all of them. I took a deep breath
"I think they separated us for a reason" Mika says looking at all of us.
"Of course they did. They want to wipe everyone in this room out. I should've died" Benedict says. I roll my eyes.
The place is quiet, everyone lost in their own thoughts.
"I never thought I'd be in a room with women" Gideon says and we all laugh.
"For real. Two days ago, I was scared of looking at a woman for too long" Edward says.
"Don't tell me, you're a Virgin?" Mika asks.
"You're not?" Edward asks.
"Nah" we all laugh.
"And I was supposed to marry you" Edward says with a laugh
"I was getting experience for both of us" Mika joked.
"What do you think will happen to us? What about our parents?" Katie asked.
"I don't know. But when I raised my hands, I was ready to fight for my life. Which is funny because I've never thrown a punch before" Gideon says and we giggle.
"How many people did the Regents loose in battle 10 years ago?" I ask.
"I don't know, father locked me inside my room" Benedict says.
"Me too" I hear most of us chorus.
"Stephan locked me in a cabinet" I say.
"Most of us never got to experience the war. They must've suffered." Gideon says.
"They'll take it out on us" Katie says.
"I don't even blame them. I saw Romano's Cowardice first hand" Edward says clearly angry.
"That's how we were brought up. Run, hide." Benedict says.
"How did seeing your former fiancee feel like Maria?" Gideon asks.
"Like death" and we all laugh. Not the usual refined laugh. Something else this time.
"How come no one knew about your rare eyes?" Benedict asked
"Too rare for a skirt" I reply.
"I think it's awesome. Though if I saw it two days ago, I would scorn. Just for the elders" we all laugh again
"You were so brave." Kate says.
"We all were." I say.
"I actually thought that if I died, I would die happy seeing all of you today" Gideon joked
"1 hour here and you're already a pervert. Lord help us all"
We all laugh at Benedict and her drama.
"The slap Mila gave you though, what's her deal?" Katie asks.
"She's just mad she didn't kill us all" Gideon says.
"I bet my p***s on that" Edward says and we all gag.
"Never try that again Mary, understand?" Mila says.
"Just because I'm a virgin doesn't mean you get to call me Mary" Edward says
"Tell her. You- you slut!" Katie says and we all cheer for her.
"Guys, jokes aside these two days have been crazy. From planning for the biggest banquet to trying to stay alive here." Edward says.
I see tears in Katie's eyes.
"What's wrong?" I ask her.
"My sister didn't raise her hands" she says and I look at her with sadness.
"I'm an orphan now" I say.
"Guys, let's make it count. I'll be so sad if I didn't die with my parents only to die here. We'll make it."Gideon says.
"Of course we will. We will look out for one another and all other skirts here. I just hope they let us go one day" Mika says
Everyone nods. It goes quiet again
"Lucas is kinda hot"
"Benedict!!"

By 7am, we were already awake. In the Land of the skirts, we got up early to have our lesson, morning tea.
But here, it was totally different.
We all looked at each other.
"Good morning?" Katie said.
"Nothing's good about the morning Katie" Benedict says.
Edward groans and gets down from his bed.
"I heard they serve unleavened bread. And dead rats" Mika said
"That's a stretch" Gideon says.
"The rat might be but I'm guessing not for the bread" Mika said.
"You know, yesterday, those guys were wearing suits top to bottom because they had to disguise themselves. I wonder how they'll look today" Mika says. Hinting to the fact that we might be seeing some more muscles and hot guys
"Far from the topic. We just want to take a bath. We haven't done that in three days now" Edward says rolling his eyes at his ex fiancee and she grins at him, making him more annoyed.
"I just want to get through the whole day" Benedict says and I smile
"But. I wanna see Lucas though" Benedict adds giggling and it's not hard to identify her crush on him
"Wait no longer" we hear someone say behind us. I think the guys spot him first because they are the ones facing the door.
I see Benedict go white but she doesn't turn around. She wouldn't even if it's the last thing she doesn't do on Earth.
"Pathetic sluts." I hear Mila curse.
We turn to them, except Benedict
"Good morning" Gideon greets looking serious. Yeah they are the men here. It feels good to see him step up for us.
We follow, greeting them as well.
Benedict finally turns looking at the ground before her with an expressionless face, like she hadn't just talked about seeing Lucas before he entered the room and obviously heard her.
Lucas stares at Benedict for a moment but she doesn't even look at him. She looks so normal that I want to laugh.
"Morning. Breakfast is down the hall" Lucas says.
"Rat free I suppose?" Katie asks and the Regents in the room laugh out loud
"They thought we ate rats?" One asked. I didn't know whether he found it funny or annoying. I know I'd be annoyed if I heard that people had a prejudice about me consuming rats.
"You'll just have to find out. By 11 am, your first fight begins"
