Violet remained silent and the girl in the hoodie for the rest of the semester. She tried as much as possible not to be noticed. The last prank that was carried on her was a major one. She was the laughing stock of the entire school. More than ever, no one wanted to associate themselves with her. She was used to it though, at least by being all by herself, she was sure that no one was going to bully her. It is not like she was going to bully herself. She had cried in the washroom till she got tired of crying. No one cared, which is what she learnt after all this. If she does not pick herself up and be there for herself, no one else will. Her mother was quite concerned about her, but she didn’t want to tell her of how her day in school were equaled to a day in hell. Her mother has been through a lot and she does not deserve to hear this. She will make it through what is happening to her, she believes that she will. This was the last week of school, before the summer holiday. Violet had anticipated for their break. This semester had been a tough one on her and she looked forward to enjoy her holiday. At least, when she is not in Liberty High, no one will ever bully her. “Good work Miss Swanson,” The English teacher congratulated her before handing her, her English exam paper back. “Thank you Miss,” Violet told the teacher in a low voice. “Everything alright?” Miss Vivian asked her. With that grade, she expected her to be so happy about it. She is an A student and this should make her more happy and confident. “Yes, I am just not feeling well,” Violet shuffled her feet as she lied to her teacher. The other students’ had started looking in her direction and she did not want any trouble. “Okay, do you want to go and see the school nurse?” Miss Vivian asked and her eyes drew concern all over her Violet’s face. It felt like she could tell that Violet was lying. “I think I will go right now,” Violet said with a small chuckle to clear the air. She dragged her seat slowly before exiting the class. She could hear murmurs behind her. At first she wanted to know what people were saying about her but when she knew that nobody liked her, she knew that what people were saying were simply mean things about her. People are just mean, and she had to deal with it. Other than going to the nurse, she decided to go to the dining room. It was almost lunch time and she figured that she should have it before everyone else to minimize her chances of being bullied. She was not sick. She was just pale, pale because she hated her life and she just hates being in this school in the first place. This school has made her believe that there is no good left in this world. She had a chance of telling Miss Vivian that she was being bullied by the rest of the students but she didn’t want to. She was a teacher. She would go to the staff room and as for her, she would be alone in the hallway, being bullied for talking about bullying. She walked to the dining area and before she could run away, she saw Kylie and Rachel, the very popular girls in the school. Everyone worshipped them. If only this could happen to her. “b***h!” They loved seeing her there. She was the easy target of being bullied. She tried turning and walking away as first as possible but they did not give her that chance, they caught up with her. “b***h! Don’t you feel hot in that heavy hood at this time of the day?” Kylie asked her. Violet didn’t say anything. She knew better to keep quiet. If she said anything, they will bully her even more. They always wanted for her to be bullied and say nothing. They wanted to know that they are in full control of her and her body. “I know how I will make you talk,” Rachel told her before leaving. Violet was still wondering what she was up to when the bell rang. The rest of the students will soon join them in the dining room. Something that she never wished for that to happen. Not when she is trapped between this two popular girls who are scheming against her. Rachel went and serves some food. She come back with it in a plate. She wanted to pour it on Violet because in her mind, she knew that this was fun. As soon as the rest of the student joined in the dining room, Rachel had poured food over Violet’s head. This made it a food fight. With Violet at the center of the dining room, food was smashed into her face and she probably fainted for she had this pain, rage and disbelief running through her system. “Are you okay?” Violet’s mum told her daughter as soon as she opened her eyes. She had been called to the hospital by the school. It was alleged that Violet had tripped and fell in the dining room of the school. She fainted and that is why she was rushed to the hospital. As soon as Violet saw her mother, fresh fat tears started streaming from her eyes like water from a faulty tap. “What is the problem?” The mother asked her daughter. “Mummy, I don’t want to go back to that school. Mum please, I don’t want to be here. I want to go far away from this place,” Violet cried to her mother. “Why baby, please, you are okay now, what is wrong?” Her mother inquired. “I have been bullied mum, I can’t go back there. I want to go to a new town. I want to heal mother. If you love me please don’t take me back there,” Violet begged her mother with tears on her face. Just like that, Violet was to go to Malibu and live with her aunt for summer. Her mother had to make this bold move to ensure that her daughter will be okay. Violet wanted all this stop, and she hoped that she will be happy in Malibu. She hoped that this summer would be the one to make a difference in her life and she had a good feeling that it would. She felt it strongly, she felt that she would happy and have better days.
