Venus Pov
A loud boom of thunder brought me from unconsciousness. I wasn't sure how long ago Hunter and I had fallen asleep, but the storm hadn't ebbed since we went to bed. Without opening my eyes, I rolled onto my other side.
Despite there being only darkness on the side of the room I had been facing, there was now a brightness behind my eyelids as I turned the other direction. I slowly allowed my eyes to crack open as they adjusted to the light. The room was mostly dark, except for a small light coming from a lamp in the sitting area at the front of the room.
