Chapter 4

Pyrrathis In the middle of the night, silence covered the kingdom of Pyrrathis. The dim light from the blazing torches on the walls danced across the cold stone chamber. At its center stood Draven, weary but never weak. He carefully placed his weapon on the table. The sound of steel striking wood echoed through the quiet room. For a moment, he stared into the distance, as though his thoughts were deeper than any war. Then he sensed that he was not alone. He glanced over his shoulder, his eyes becoming sharp. "I know you're there," he said coldly. "Show yourself." In an instant, he turned around and grabbed his weapon, ready for any attack. From the shadows, a figure slowly emerged. Nyxara. She walked without a sound, almost like smoke drifting across the floor. Her eyes gleamed beneath the dark hood covering her face. "I didn't come here to fight you, Draven," she said in a calm but deceptive voice as she lowered her hood. "I came to form an alliance." Draven remained silent. He kept his weapon in his hand but did not raise it. He knew Nyxara well and did not trust her so easily. "Why do you want to join me?" he asked. "Because we share the same goal," Nyxara answered. "I believe in your vision," she continued as she slowly circled behind him. "This world has become rotten, and only you have the strength to destroy it... and rebuild it." Draven slowly lowered his weapon. Nyxara stepped closer until she stood behind him. "All I want is a better and fairer world for my people," Draven said quietly, his eyes fixed on the empty space before him as if lost in thought. Nyxara leaned close and whispered into his ear. "You are the strongest of them all, Draven. You are the one who deserves to rule." Draven stood motionless. His breathing grew heavier. Nyxara's words spread through his mind like poison. He did not realize—or perhaps refused to realize—that every whisper was part of a much larger plan. In Nyxara's eyes, Draven was never meant to be king. He was only meant to become her weapon. After a long silence, Draven finally came back to his senses. He slowly turned toward Nyxara, his eyes burning with renewed determination. "Then," he said coldly, "we begin by destroying those who stand in our way." Nyxara smiled. It was a smile that never reached her eyes. And on that night, within the dark halls of Pyrrathis, an alliance was born—one that would shake all of Arkadia. Thalassia Deep within the kingdom of Thalassia, where sunlight filtered through the clear waters, Serenya Maris stood before the Sacred River. She could not forget the warning the waters had whispered to her. The war between Terranova and Pyrrathis filled her with worry. She did not want the balance of Arkadia to be destroyed. She summoned one of her messengers. "Deliver this to Lady Elyndra, " Serenya said as she handed him a sealed letter. "Yes, my Lady." The messenger bowed and immediately left for Aeralis. **** Elyndra stood on the balcony of Aeralis' sacred sanctuary, quietly watching her people below. For now, they trained in peace. But she knew that peace would not last. Soon, Draven might turn his army toward Aeralis. She was determined to protect her kingdom when that day came. "My Lady," a guard called. "The messenger from Thalassia has arrived. He brings a letter." "Send him in." The messenger entered and handed Elyndra the letter bearing Thalassia's royal seal. She opened it and read its contents. "I accept Lady Serenya's invitation," Elyndra said after finishing the letter. She ordered her guards to prepare for the journey to Thalassia. When Elyndra arrived in Thalassia, Serenya welcomed her personally."I am glad you accepted my invitation," Serenya said warmly. Elyndra smiled. "What did you wish to discuss?" "May we speak in the Garden of Thalassia?" Serenya asked. "It is more private." She led Elyndra through the beautiful gardens until they reached a gazebo at its center. When they arrived, Serenya turned to her guards. "You may leave us." The Thalassian guards bowed and stepped away. Elyndra's guards waited for her command. She gave a small nod, signaling that they could leave as well. Once they were alone, Serenya raised her hand. A large sphere of water formed around the gazebo, surrounding them like a transparent wall. Elyndra instinctively reached for the Air Gem around her neck. "What is this?" she asked cautiously. "Only a barrier," Serenya replied. "You know someone is listening." Elyndra slowly lowered her hand. She knew Serenya was right. Nyxara was always watching. "Whatever we discuss here will remain between us," Serenya said. "Why did you call me here?" Elyndra asked. "The waters have spoken to me," Serenya began. "As the Guardian of the Wind, I know you have seen the prophecy. The tides grow more violent every night. Is it because of Draven's attack on Terranova?" She looked directly into Elyndra's eyes. "Will there truly be war? The waters keep rising. Your winds grow restless. Fire has already struck against stone. Tell me, Guardian of the Wind... how long before all six tribes are swallowed by this conflict?" Elyndra remained silent for a moment, her fingers resting on the Wind Gem hanging around her neck. The memory of her vision returned—the world breaking apart, the six Gems colliding, and the cries of countless lives lost. Finally, she spoke. "The balance is breaking. Draven has already begun it. If we do nothing, every tribe in Arkadia will fall." Serenya's expression became firm. "Then we must stand together." Her words carried the weight of a promise. Elyndra noticed the slight tremble in Serenya's hand and the worry hidden in her eyes. Trust. It was the fragile bond between them, and it had already begun to crack. Elyndra told Serenya everything she had seen in her prophecy. When she finished, Serenya spoke without hesitation. "Then we must help each other." She extended her hand. "Let us form an alliance to stop Draven and Nyxara before their plans destroy Arkadia." Elyndra nodded. "I agree." And so, the first alliance against the coming darkness was forged. Together, they began planning how they would stop Draven and Nyxara before it was too late.
