“Dang,” Cecil said as he shook his head in defeat. “All these years, I thought I was fast. Then hear you come along and have to put me in my place. We will have to race again sometime soon.” I had made it to the house long before any of the boys did. Cecil was the first of them to arrive, though. I took a seat on the front porch steps, and he took a seat next to me while we waited for the other two to show up. “How long have you been a vampire?” I asked, curious. “Two hundred and eighty-five years,” he shrugged. “Though I am three hundred and five.” My eyes widened. That is a long time to have lived.
