Chapter Thirty-one

The four of us are strategically positioned along the outer edges of the tree line, carefully observing the proceedings of the gathering from a safe distance. From our vantage point, it seemed that the gathering primarily comprised of college students who were socializing around a campfire while indulging in alcoholic beverages and what smelled like m*******a. Upon closer observation, I was able to recognize a few familiar faces. Some of these students graduated from my high school last year. I have to keep a distance to avoid catching their attention. I’d hate to be recognized by any of them, especially before I have a chance to get some blood. I started to scan the area. Maybe some of the kids are drunk or high enough already to where I could just snatch one of them and grab a bite. W
