Chapter 2

Some minutes later, they arrived at the club where activity was already ongoing in full swing. As they stepped in, Torero explained to his friends that the founding of the club was based on an idea that his wife and sister had. An outlet for people that needed some quick relief, or were looking for a place to mingle. He further told them that the place wasn't limited to only his pack members, and that humans stumbled upon the place occasionally. The guys nodded in agreement and they moved in. The place was brightly lit with disco bulbs that circled around on the ropes that held them to the ceiling, and Anthony blocked his eyes from the light as they sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. Across the room, people were pressed together in the middle of the dance floor each other drinking and grinding their bodies against each other. He looked at them with a small frown on his face, wondering at their bundle of energy at that time when all he wanted to do was work on his project and then sleep. He shook his head and darted his eyes away from the centre of the room, looking around the remaining parts of the club that weren't very occupied. Soon, his eyes went wide when he saw a pair of wolves in one corner of the room nuzzling against each other. He had heard stories about people who preferred to have s****l relations in animal form, but had never seen it happen in his own pack. He watched them in curiousity for a few seconds before he caught himself and turned away from them, focusing on the conversation between his friends instead. However, he brought their attention to his discovery eventually, and Torero chuckled with a shrug. "People do it sometimes, and if you're worried about the humans, no need. The place is enchanted, so they don't notice a thing." The other guys laughed and watched the fi some seconds before they got back into their conversation. He got bored of people watching and listening to his friends, his mind drifting away to work for the umpeenth time that day as he felt guilty for leaving the unfinished business behind, so he excused himself from his friends and went outside to make a quick call to his gamma. The girl picked up after three rings, her voice groggy with sleep and he informed her on the step to take before he got back the next day and she immediately agreed. He stayed outside for a moment longer, enjoying the cool breeze of the night and just then, he noticed the thick mass of trees just opposite the club. A strong urge came into him to shred his clothes and run wild into the night, but he held his wolf back and turned to go back into the building when a strong scent wafted into his nostrils. It smelled like milk and honey, and his heart fluttered wildly. He took in a deep breath, grinning widely at how sweet and warm her felt, and turned around to find the source of this feeling when he locked eyes with a woman. His wolf screamed in joy as both of them stared at each other, and a wide smile grew on their faces. Anthony had found his mate. In a club. Sasha walked forward before he did, the scent of wood and wet grass filling her nostrils as her wolf celebrated in delight. She stepped right in front of him and whispered boldly, "So are you my mate?" Anthony was taken aback by her brazenness but he nodded his head and flicked his gaze to her raven black hair spread wildly on top her shoulders. He wanted to run his hands through them, right there and then, but he stopped himself and instead tucked his fingers into his trousers. "I believe so. I'm Anthony and you are?" He asked and extended a hand to her which she looked at for some seconds before clasping it. "I'm Sasha. Nice to meet you," she responded, still feeling excited from her latest achievement and to top the icing on the cake, she just met her mate and he was beautiful. They continued to stare at each other for some seconds, each one to their own thoughts. Sasha had come to the club to relax and clear her thoughts, after her successful raid of the Silver Stone pack. The pack was headed by Alpha Derrick, and she had set her eyes on it for a while before she finally led her fellow rogues to it. Though she hadn't gotten hold of the pack eventually, she got something – or someone just as valuable. Vaguely, she heard the guy opposite her clear his throat and she let go of his hand, as she flicked her hair behind her ear. She watched his eyes follow the movement, and she fought the urge to shake her head at the predictable actions of men, wolves or humans. Sasha couldn't remember the amount of times she had used her womanly charms to get what she wanted from the gender, but it was the first time she felt a bit nervous around a man. Anthony walked closer to her and held her hand again as he gestured at the building. "Do you want to go inside?" The girl shook her head and motioned at a small bench which sat a few feet away from where they stood. Silently, they began to walk there and soon, they were seated on the bench, their shoulders touching each other. She used the opportunity to study the guy well, and she sized him up. He seemed focused and determined, two traits she loved in a man, and her eyes strayed to his lips. She suddenly hoped he'd be a wonderful lover, at least to erase the bad moments of her past. From her experience, she knew her mate was an alpha as well, and the thought didn't intrigue her. She'd have to be a Luna. However, she said nothing and waited for him to tell her about his pack at his own time. Soon, the both of them were in the middle of a light conversation talking about themselves, and after a while, Anthony told her about his alpha status just before he asked her about her origins. Sasha faltered for some seconds, before she made up a story about being from the Silver Stone pack and Anthony nodded his head at her story. They continued to chat till a noise from the club emanated, and they stayed in silence for a moment before their eyes met again and Anthony's eyes strayed to her lips. He caught her smile as her eyes became hooded and a sultry expression came over them. He moved closer to her, and leaned forward as their lips connected. Sasha took in a large gulp of air and felt like a growing fire erupted in her stomach. When he gripped her waist to pull her closer, a shock ran through her and she shivered. Her lips opened to take more of him in, and he did not hesitate to take advantage of it, threading his free hand through her hair. Anthony sighed softly, pressing her even further to him to feel his growing desire and she held onto it and rubbed softly. Just as he let out a throaty moan, his pocket began to vibrate before a soft tune came playing and Sasha pulled back just as he brought his phone out and put it to his ear. Instinctively, she placed her finger on her lips and drew it back instantly, feeling a shock ripple through her. They were swollen and she still felt hot with need, her mind already replaying the kiss. As mean spirited and tough as she was, she was already beginning to feel like a soft female in her mate's presence and she didn't know if she liked or hated it. As she was lost in her thoughts, Anthony's hand brushed her bottom lip and she looked up to him as he spoke into the phone. His heated gaze was on her lips throughout the call, and when she heard him tell his friends that he wouldn't be following them to the house, her heart jumped. Soon, he ended the call and brought his face closer to hers as he whispered, "Do you know anywhere around here?" She caught his implied meaning and smiled at him, touching her finger to his lips. "Yes, I do. Let's go."
