"Someone got me a new phone!"
Miles shrieks in excitement, grabbing the iPhone box from his mom's hand. Someone just dropped the package at the doorstep.
"Not just any phone," Susan smiles. "But the latest iPhone."
He quickly opens the box and instantly frowns.
"Wait... who could have bought me this phone? Why isn't the sender's name on the receipt?"
A name pops up in my mind.
"Trevor."
"But he hates me. He hasn't talked to me for an entire week since we broke up! He has moved on! So, why would he buy me a phone when he clearly stated that it's over between us?"
"Because it's your parents' anniversary and he wanted to surprise you."
"Ruby is right." His mom agrees. "And talking about that, I think I should go dress up before the guests start arriving..."
