Lilliana
I don't know how long I slept, but I woke up with the feeling of being shaken up. When I open my eyes, no one's trying to wake me up, but the plane was very unsteady. I became alert. The lights are flicking on and off. I look out the window and saw that we are getting lower and lower. We are in the middle of a forest. All I could see was trees.
I tried to remove my harness, but it wouldn't come off for some reason. I tried looking out, craning my neck at the chair. That's when I saw the lifeless bodies of the stewardess. s**t.
I tried harder to remove my seat belt but to no avail it still wouldn't budge. My bag! s**t. My bag was on the floor and I can't reach it. Then the plane suddenly started to crash fast. I've got no choice but to pull the mask and brace myself for the inevitable crash.
The plane became even more unsteady and rocky as I felt it hit the trees. As it officially crash down, my head hit something and I lose consciousness.
I woke up for the second time this night. I feel so dizzy. My head hurts, my legs hurts— damn everything hurts! I could feel hot liquid streaming down my face. Must've been blood. The plane was a total wreck. When I tried to move, I flinch at the pain from my lower left abdomen. There was some sort of debris piercing through me. It wasn't that deep but still, it's bleeding too much. The damn seatbelt was still on.
“If people want a secure seat belt. They sure need this one.” I whispered sarcastically to no one. My voice came out rough and husky.
I found my bag on the floor. With every power I could muster, I pick it up with my feet. I had to lean in a little to get it which makes the damn debris penetrate my abdomen even further. I bit my lip hard. Pain hits me like a storm.
I took my knife and cut the stupid seat belt. Every move hurts. I'm starting to smell the gas. s**t, it's about to explode. I had to remove this damn thing. I took the bag and bit it as hard as I can. In a count of three, I pulled it out.
I've never felt anything worse than this. I feel like I had just pulled half my body. I wrapped my wound with a spare shirt from my bag. With every ounce of determination, I pulled myself up and started to walk away from the wrecked plane. I refuse to get burned alive. Every step was literally pain. My teeth are clenched so tight my jaw would probably ache later—if I am still alive that is. I used the trees to support myself from falling.
I walk and walk, but the forest seems endless. I've lost too much blood. My head is spinning, and I'm merely struggling to not lose consciousness. Just as I was about to collapse, I saw a huge pond. The moon was reflecting down on it, very clearly. It was beautiful. I sat down on a tree and lean back. I was in the middle of the forest. At this state, I'm not going to last very long, so why not die with a beautiful view in front of me?
I stared up at the moon and laugh a little. How ironic for a hunter to die in a forest while the moon is looking down at me. For some reason it doesn't feel like it was mocking me. It felt like it was welcoming me—even felt like it was warming me with its moon light as though it was embracing me.
So, this is how I die huh?
My father had been right after all.
Slowly I gave in the darkness, but before I was completely engulfed, I felt something touched me. Electricity runs from where it touches me in the arm and all over my body. I shiver at the touch as if urging me to fight. It was so comforting. It felt like home, but sleep was heavy, and I don't have enough energy to fight it off. I slip in to the darkness.

Silver
“Alpha, we've heard that hunters are stepping foot on the European lands. Which pack they are targeting is unknown.” Said one of my subordinates.
Hunters are going at it again. Those pesky hunters should never dare step foot on my land, or they will not see the sun again. War between humans were long over, but hunters still do not stop on hunting my race.
“Then we should heighten our defenses on our perimeters. I want patrol units there 24/7. Alert me immediately if anything was amiss.” I said. With that, the meeting ended.
I do not belittle those hunters, especially the Walkers. They are very knowledgeable about us, and they invented different kinds of weapons made with silver which is our greatest weakness. They are deadly not only because of the weapons they have but because they are good at fighting in combat as well. I for one is very strict with my pack. I assure that every male are trained to be at their best especially in combat fights. Even women must at least learn basic defenses as a means of personal protection unless they want to be an enforcer then they will undergo the same training as the males. A werewolf does not only depend on his wolf and I don't believe that gender should cause vulnerability.
Nathalie and Jac, my beta and third's mate entered the office as soon as the other members are out. Nathalie approached her mate, Vin who kissed her immediately. When I look at the other pair, Jac and Quinn are also doing the same. I shook my head and cleared my throat.
“I should really ban your mates from going here in my office.” I said seriously.
Nathalie and Jac glared at me. My best friend and beta, Vin laughed. “He's just jealous.” He teased.
I just focused on the papers in front of me. There's actually not much because I prefer finishing everything right away.
“Yup. Let's see when he finds his mate. I'm sure he'll be worse than us.” Quinn said.
“No, thanks.” I said.
I had decided long ago that I don't want a mate. Sure I need one but not now.
“Never say never, Sil. When you found her, you'll go crazy. And I'll laugh when you practically follow her everywhere like a dog.” Vin said.
I shook my head.
“So I heard, hunters are attacking again? Is that right babe?” Natalie asked her mate.
Vin nodded at her. “Yes. I think they are targeting Europe this ti-”
Someone knocked. After a while, the door flung open revealing my scout. He looked like he was in a hurry. I waited for him to speak.
“Alpha, the Zircoa Pack has been attacked. Alpha James is dead.” He said.
I was shocked. Even though I hated that bastard, I knew that his pack is strong as well. I've seen him fight, and he is good. However, he's a perverted arrogant.
“I'm perfectly happy that James is dead, but it means that the Walkers are on the go again.” Vin said. James tried to hit on his mate before which nearly brought a war between our packs.
I told everyone to be alert and cautious but do not cause any unnecessary panic. The last thing that I need now is to have my pack in panic.
...
It was already 11 PM, and I was still in my office, alert for any signs of attack. Suddenly I feel like the air was sucked out of me. I couldn't breathe. My lungs are on fire, and it feels as if someone's squeezing my heart. I gasp for air.
The door suddenly open. Vin and Quinn entered. They were saying something, but the pain was blinding and deafening, so I couldn't hear them. I fell on my knees while clutching my chest. Vin and Quinn approached me. After a minute or so, the pain was suddenly gone, but my heart still feels heavy.
“What happen to you?” Quinn asked.
I explained what happened. “I've felt that before.” Vin told me with a frown. “When Nathalie almost died.” He said and I froze.
“Are you saying that it was because his mate is...” Quinn did not dare to finished what he was saying.
I never wanted a mate but hearing what Vin said scared me shitless and the pain, I will never forget that pain. It was consuming and intense and the pain was so deep that I could feel it in my bones.
There was a knock on the door, interrupting us all. An omega rushed in. He was sweating profusely.
“Alpha, there was a plane crash 398 meters from the south. Some patrol units are already there checking the wreckage. Alpha, a hunter's scent was identified.” He said.
Almost immediately, I stood up, ready to leave. “I'm going. Vin, remain here and wait for commands. You have authority to proceed with a necessary course of action if there's a possible hunter attack.” I told my beta, Vin.
Vin immediately nodded, but I could see concern in his face. “I'll be fine, Vin. Quinn's with me.” I told him.
Beta and Third in Commands are instinctively protective of their Alphas almost the same level as they do in their mate. The same goes for their mates whose instinctively protective of their Luna. Those bonds are called as, guardian bond.
Quinn and I immediately took off and went to the scene. Because of our supernatural speed, we did not take longer than 15 minutes, I could be faster if I maxed my speed, but I'm being cautious. As soon as I arrive, patrol units who responded immediately approached me.
“Alpha, we found weapons who belong to a hunter.” Lee told me. Behind him, two lower ranked weres holds several bags but one of them caught my attention. It was a small backpack just enough to carry a few things. It was reeking with a very delicious scent.
I took it and brought it closer to my nose. I took a sniff and damn I couldn't seem to get enough of it. I have never smelled something so… Delicious. It smelled of wild flowers. Damn. That scent is stirring something inside me.
'Mine.'
I froze as Damian, my wolf growled at me. I could feel the strong vibration on my chest. The surrounding werewolves flinched and took a step back while bowing slightly into submission.
'Find our mate.' Damian demanded.
Then I remembered what happened just before I got here. “I've felt that before.” Vin told me. “When Nathalie almost died.” He said.
My eyes automatically went to the plane crash. I could feel my whole body turn into ice as I look at the burning wreckage. My feet walked on its own. Quinn stopped me.
“Silver-” I stared at him with anger for daring to stop me. He gulps, trying to withstand my force. “Alpha. You can't go there. The plane will explode anytime now.” He said.
My wolf became even more aggressive and protective. He was fighting to get out. He wants me to tear Quinn off me and throw him somewhere. “Get off.” I told him. My voice doesn't sound human at all.
He did not budge. “Get. Off.” I said, in my Alpha tone, and he started to shake. I grab his hands and throw him off me. But before I could even take a step closer to the plane, it exploded.
My ears were ringing, I could hear nothing. The force threw me back a little, but I did not fall. A werewolf's hearing is more than 10 times stronger than a human's and hearing something like an explosion is just too much. However, despite the fact that I couldn't temporarily hear, my wolf was tearing in my mind.
'Our mate!' He was yelling at me.
I could do nothing but look at the fire in front of me, with the bag still in my hands. For a moment, I could only stand there feeling helpless. But beyond the smell of the burning gas, blood and smoke was that particular scent. It was still there but faint. Hope blossomed in my chest. With my nose up in the air, my feet started walking again. As I walk, my hearing started to come back.
I could hear Quinn asking me, “Sil? Where are you going?”
I did not answer. I was too focused on tracking the scent. Each step, it seems to smell stronger. I'm getting near her, my mate. Suddenly, I saw the pond in front of me. It was the same pond I used to go to when I wanted to unwind. I love it especially on nights like this when the moon is full, and it reflects on the water.
Then my head snap on the tree I used to set at. There was a silhouette. The person was leaning back on the tree as if sleeping.
'It's her. Get her!' Damian demanded.
She was indeed our mate. The amazing scent was coming from her. I took a step closer and as I did, I could see her side of face, thanks to the moonlight shining down on her face. Damn she's so f*****g beautiful. She looked like a sleeping goddess. She took my breath away. Her hair sat messily on her shoulders, and everything about her is just so perfect. I could see just how long her lashes are. My gaze went lower, and I could see her chest rising and falling a little slow than normal. That's when I realize the scent of blood mixing on her scent. My hearing are back, and I could hear her faint heartbeat. My heart fell and in a matter of seconds I was beside her. I held her arms, damn I could feel the sparks even against the layers of her leather jacket.
I couldn't help but stare at her beautiful face again but the blood trickling down her left forehead brought me back to reality. I swept her up and into my arms. “Sil? What are you doing? She's a hunter!” He said.
I glared at him when he dare take a step forward. I growled protectively. He looks back and forth between me and the woman in my arms. A few seconds and his eyes became so big I seriously thought it would pop out. “No way.” He whispered in disbelief.
“I'm bringing her to the hospital. Get her bag.” I told him using my alpha tone.
With my human form, I was slower. So as I got nearer, I mind linked Vin. “Vin. Get the emergency room ready. Call doctor Geneve.” I said.
“I will.” He replied.
When I arrive at my pack's hospital, Vin was already there waiting with doctor Geneve and a few nurses with a hospital bed ready.
I put my mate down on the hospital bed. My jaw ticked as I saw her bloody figure. “Alpha, this is a-”
I stopped doctor Geneve with a steely stare. “Make sure to save her. Do everything.” I demanded using my alpha tone. My wolf was still dangerously close to the surface. I can't back him down no matter what. For the first time in my life, I have little control on my wolf.
Like what Quinn did, she looks between both of us and her eyes became wide, and she gasps. Doctor Geneve is my mother's best friend, and she's one of the best doctors here in my pack. “I understand.” She said, sounding determined.
They pushed the bed inside the emergency room. I know that I had to stay outside that's why I stayed, and I was trying my hardest to keep my wolf inside. He was fighting to be let out and go there with our mate. Anger was vibrating through my chest for not being able to be there to protect her, to help her and to keep the pain away.
“Someone tried to kill her.” Damian told me. He was seething with anger and for some reason, I am too. I've never felt emotion this… Strong. It was overwhelming.
