"Garrett!" My mother's eyes widened in disbelief as my command echoed through the room.
The color drained from Rachel's face. She had clearly expected my arrival to turn the situation in her favor, not result in me openly protecting Eliza against my own mother, the Luna of our pack.
I could sense Rachel's unease as her gaze darted between Eliza and me. Her hands clenched into tight fists at her sides, her werewolf senses undoubtedly picking up the shift in power dynamics.
