I watched Ethan’s car speed off into the distance before swallowing the strange heaviness lodged in my throat and getting into the car with Josh.
We had barely driven halfway down the road when it happened.
A huge truck came out from the side at terrifying speed and slammed directly into Ethan’s car.
My breath stopped.
The impact echoed loudly through the air as the car flipped violently.
The truck sped away immediately.
My eyes widened in horror.

My trembling hands fumbled desperately with the car door lock.
Josh slammed on the brakes instantly.
The moment the car stopped, I jumped out.
Josh sprinted after the truck at full speed while I ran toward the crash scene with everything I had.
