Sold Short Chapter 2

(Ian)

When you where hurt I tried everything to bring you bake to your wolf, I took all the blood from me that I could to try to save you, but ultimately it did not work. Really Daniella I tried, I give you my word I will make it up to you some how I will I promise. I think you have listened to me enough for now, we will have more time to talk and work on things. Would you like to see Mary and Kat? Daniella replied yes, with a small smile. oh, those lips, just the right shape with a tinge of light pink, what is wrong with me I need to look away, but the heat in my body that only she brings is something I am not use to.

I open the door and we walked up the steps. Once we reached Mary and Kats room I knocked. Come in I heard Kat say, both of their eyes open wide with tears of joy when the saw Daniella. Daniella your back Mary cried, Kat ran and gave her a big hug. Please do not scare us like that ever again, we are so glad to see you, Mary and I have thought of and idea that may save your pack. Come sit next to me Mary said, is there anything we can do to help? I was having a hard time concentrating, all at once I could see my brother’s thoughts, his ship was taken water, a bad storm moved in on the crew. Would you ladies please excuse me I have so business to attend too, Daniella I will be back later, if you would like or I can have your dinner served here. This way you could stay longer and talk. Daniella looked up and me with the big blue eyes and full pink lips, she nodded yes, with this I we to try and contact my brother.

I have now been trying to reach Mark for a few hours it is like he cannot hear my thoughts, I hope the ship, and all are well, but I keep seeing big waves crashing on the deck. I call to the servants and tell them that Daniella will be severed her dinner with Mary and Kat tonight and I will not be joining them, now please bring me so wine, I need to calm myself.

I heard a voice; it was Mark he said that they had braved a large storm, but it had passed and they where back in route to retrieve Mactan, Daniella’s father, we are about at least a week out from Nigeria maybe two, I will contact you again once we are in route back. A knock at my door, come in. My servant Tatum enter with a pitcher of wine. I sat back and began to indulge in a few glasses, it was warm to the lips and a peach flavor, before I knew it, I had drunk the entire container still wanting more. I called for Tatum, bring me more wine please, I will not eat tonight, once she delivered the wine, I told her that she would not be needed for the rest of the night. I drank another glass and realized it was getting late and I better check on Daniella, wow just even saying her name brought the heat to my body, I needed to stop thinking of her in this manner, just shake this from my brain, I open the door and stumbled up the steps to retrieve Daniella.

(Daniella)

The girls and I had been talking for hours, they both so wanted to help me and my pack. Nothing we can do I said, my pack will die off and I will live forever with the guilt of it all thanks to Ian. I will hate him for entreaty, with that the door flew open and there stood Ian. Good evening ladies, I have come to retrieve Daniella, as he tripped over the small rug on the floor. Ian, Kat said, are you all right, as she tried to help him to his feet.

Once Ian was to his feet he asked if I was ready to go, Ian do you really think I want to be in the present of a drunk, leave and close the door behind you. With this Ian grabbed my arm, at once I could fell the heat in my body, I pulled away. Ian go get out, have you not done enough, get out. With this Ian turned and walk out the door.

Daniella you are wrong how can you treat Ian like this, he did everything to save you, do you not understand he had no choice, you would have died, Kat said. Mary said come over here both of you, we need to explain to Daniella what we know. As we sat on the bed Mary and Kat told me what they knew happened. I do not care what will happen to my pack, what about my father, as I began to cry.

(Mary)

Daniella is there someone that could take your place from your pack, your father will be here at some point can you not talk with Ian and come up with a plan? No, Daniella replied, I was groomed for this my entire life, from day one I knew this was my fate. My father would not ask a pack member to do this without being condition. This may be the only way Danielle, Kat said. It is getting late let us get some sleep and talk mover in the morning? I looked at both, just staring. Do you not know vampires do not sleep?

(Daniella)

As I watch Mary and Kat sleep, I decide I must talk with Ian, so I head out the door and down the steps to his room. When I reached his room, I could once again feel the heat coming from my body and a feeling I just could not explain. I took a deep breath and open the door; Ian was look at me as if he knew I was coming. Ian please let me talk, we need to come up with a plan to save my pack, you owe that to me. I wish you would have just let me die, I have nothing left, you took everything from me, and I will now live forever with the guilt you alone opposed on me. How could you do this Ian, how as the tears ran down my face? I will never forgive you do you hear me never. Ian took a few steps and was standing in front of me, he reached down and softly put his hands on my shoulders, Danielle I am so sorry I had not choice, I tried I gave you all of my blood I was so week and had no more to give. Nothing was working, I looked at you and had to make the choice death or life.

I could feel the heat in my body, it was getting unbearable, I pushed his hand away. I walked to the sitting area and sat on the oversize chair, just staring at everything around me. Ian cam and sat across from me. Ian Mary and Kat suggested that maybe someone from my pack could take my place. I do not know if my father will agree to this, but he may have no choice. Ian put his hands to his head covering his eyes, Daniella I will do anything you want I owe it to you, I will do whatever it takes for the rest of my life, just please forgive me Daniella.

Ian I need to eat and I want to hunt, I want deer and I want it fresh, With this Ian said I will take you to hunt Daniella, but we must leave word for Kat and Mary, for we will be gone a few days and they should not be worried, with this I gave him a node of my head.

(Kat)

Good morning Mary did you rest well, as I stretched my arms out to get them moving. Yes, I slept well but I am famished, where is our morning meal, it is getting late. Just as she said that in walked Jasmin with tour tray of food, she says I have a message from Ian, Daniella and he have taken a small trip and will return in a few days. It was then we realized Daniella was not in our room, what do you mean a trip, a trip to where? Jasmin replied, I am not sure but was told to give you both the message. With that say asked if we needed anything more before bowling her head and leaving our room.

Kat where do you think they went, Mary asked? I have no idea, hope all is well Daniella was in no frame of mine to be taken a trip, Ian better be careful with her. I have never seen so much hate in anyone’s eyes as I did in hers. Well maybe they just need time to talk and figure out a plan Mary said.

We sat down and eat in silence both lost in our thoughts, thinking of where they could have posable went.

(Ian)

Daniella slow down you headed the wrong way, no I not I can smell them, and I am headed in the correct direction she snaped. No that is where the humans live and hunt, we cannot go there, please Danelle listen to me. She turned and snapped if you think I am going to spend the rest of my life with you in that thing you call a castle your wrong, I will be leaving once everything is taken care of and I know my father and pack make a decision on who might take my place. I understand you have a lot to learn before you venture out on your own, but when it is time if you want to go, I will not stop you.

Please follow me for now I will take you to our hunting grounds. With that we headed west, I tried to talk explain the different smells, all at once I grabbed her pulling her to the grown, quite I thought in my mind and she herd my message. That is the smell of a human, you must remember that smell to keep your self safe never go to them, for the will think you as a threat and kill you. They are our strongest enemy; it was then I realized she was beneath me and throwing me off. I looked into her beautiful blue eyes and said I am sorry, please forgive me. I could feel the heat rising in my entire body. I wanted to put my arms around and run my fingers on her pick lips. I want to feel her wrap her arms around me and forgive me for what I had done. I wanted to kiss her neck and know that she was mine, I now realized that I was in love with her, but she would never be mine she would never forgive me.

All at once she pushes me ff of her I went flying to my feet, she was strong unbelievable strong. Ian they are gone I do not smell them anymore, and do not you ever knock me to the grown again, do you hear me she said. There was that cold look in her eyes the look of hate it brought me back to my senses, lets go this way so as not to run into them again. It was almost day light, so I needed to find us shelter before the sun rises. By this time, we had made it quit far and where coming into the hill country. I know where there is a cave, we can lay up in it until the sun sets, I told her.

Without even thinking she took off running so fast I had a hard time catching up, there she stood in the front of a cave opening. Daniella get out of there, it is unsafe move now, wit that came a huge bear paw and caught her across her back, she fell to the grown. Immediately I acted grabbing the bear by the throat and killing it. There she lay face down with her dress ripped and large bleeding wounds on her back, I watched as she held herself in record time, as she stood to her feet I asked our you alright? No Ian I will never be alright again.

(Mark)

I was glad when the ship hit short, glad it is night so I can travel to her father’s home. It did not take to be greeted by Daniella’s pact, lots of hissing until I told them that I was here to see Mactan the ALPHA leader. I demanded to see him at once for I had news of his daughter. I was led to him at once, he did greet me kindly. I explained that Daniella had be in a kind of accident and that they needed him at the castle as soon as posable. I will prepare a few of my pack to come along, and we will be prepared to leave this time tomorrow, please feel free to take rest while you are here, he replied, at once he had a females pack mother bring me and mine fresh blood, with this we drank our full and set up in a dark cave for the daylight.

Once daylight was gone, we loaded the ship and headed home.

(Daniella)

As I walked away Ian followed, I needed to keep my distance from him, I do not like the feelings I feel when he is close. My body gets so hot, I just do not understand I know how much I hate him, but his feeling is too overwhelming. I must just keep my distance. Can you smell them Daniella Ian asked? Yes, and I need to feed I have a hunger that I can’t take much more, just then we came over a large hill and there they where grazing on the wet grass the morning would be coming soon we needed to act fast.

I picked the largest one and off I ran grabbing it and sinking my fangs deep into its throat, I could see Ian as he picked the one that was nearest to him, he looked down at it as though his was sorry for what he was about to do, then his fang lite in the moonlight and I watch as he gently bit into the neck and drank. I notice a fawn crying off by itself, when Ian rose from his feast, I said why is that fawn by itself where is the mother, poor little thing. Ian looked at me and said because you killed the mother. No, oh no, I cried, Ian why did you not stop me? Because you told me not to touch you ever again, I told you there is a lot you need to learn. Ian I cannot leave it here it will die; can we bring it back to the castle please I begged? It was at this time I knew I would never hunt again. Ian looked at me with a sad look, yes, I will carry it back to the castle we can let it live the rest of its days in the pasture with the other animals. Ian what is it a female or male, I want to name it in case it does not make it. Ian replied it is a female. Then we shell name her Little One, with that he thru the fawn over his shoulder and we were headed back.

We traveled quite far but morning was coming, so Ian said we needed to find cover before the sun rises. But Ian, she needs to eat, or she will starve. Let me get you settle first, and I will see what I can find. We found a small cave and down below we spotted a few sheep, Ian said come follow me and down we went Ian grabbed large sheep that was full of milk, he pull the fawn next to her tit and Little One latched on. Once she was full, we returned to the cave before the sun came up. I laid against a rock and Little One put her head in my lap and fast asleep she went.

The look in Ian face was that of hunger but not for blood, I could feel the heat raising in my body. Why does this happen I thought to myself, why do I have this heated feeling with him. I could smell his sent, and I liked it.

(Mary)

Kat I am starting to worry the have been gone for more then three days. There was a knock at the door and Jasmin came in, Jasmin is Daniella and Ian back yet, she nodded no. Do you know when they will return Kat asked, once again she just nodded NO, she sat the tray down and left the room. Oh, Mary this is not like Daniella, where could they have gone, why are they not home she pleaded.

Come Kat we need to eat it is late and we must get some rest maybe they will return tomorrow. I am sure they will return be for Daniella’s father arrives. They will have much to work out, now eat. When we where finished with night meal, we change into our night clothes and we where fast asleep in no time. It seemed as thou no time had passed and I heard a knock at the door, come in, I said and in came Ian.

Ian, you are back where is Daniella, is everything good, is she home. Kat said please Ian we are worried sick for you two. Where is Daniella we both asked again. Ian replied, she is fine she had to change after our long journey, and she did not want to leave the fawn for long, for she needs to make sure it eats. Kat looked and me with their mouth open Fawn, what do you mean fawn, like a deer? Yes, Daniella will explain later, I will leave you two now, but I am sure Daniella will be up soon to see you both, and out the door he went.

(Mactan)

I must talk to you now that my pact is resting, what has happened to my daughter, I know something is wrong I can no longer feel her. My mate is worried sick for her and very upset that I allowed this to happen. If anything has happened to my daughter, I will kill Ian. He gave me his word that he would keep her safe until her return, and I can tell he has not done so. My Daughter gave her l life for tour pack, without her we and a high bread we will not survive, the killing is becoming weekly. The Ebaben pack is to large and strong, they want the entire region. They are ruthless the kill our females and our wolf cubs with no regret.

I beg of you tell me is my daughter is a live. Mark replied she is alive but that is all I am liberty to tell you, Daniella and Ian will explain when we arrive. You will have a lot to discuss, for now go back to your pack and get some rest, we will arrive soon. I return but not mush rest I had so much to loss, if this dose not work out with Daniella I have no other option left, and how would I tell her that most of our young females wolfs had been killed.

(Daniella)

I finished feeding Little One, I headed up to see the girls. I open the door and was greeted with so much love, where have you been that both asked, we where so worried about you. Why did you not tell us you where taken a trip? Calm down girls I am fine we just did some exploring and hunting, that all, I am fine as you both can see. Mark asked what it was like hunting, well I am never going to do it again I said. both looking at me puzzled, Kat asked why.

Well you both know how I feel about Ian, so I try to keep my distance, I was looking ahead and saw this huge deer and I went for its neck and suck the blood dry, to my surprise I had killed a mother deer and she had a small fawn. I was devasted sick to my stomach, I begged Ian to bring her back here so I could save her life, he agreed and carried her all the way back here. I want to let her live all here days here. Mary let out an OH, Daniella I am so sorry that must have been horrible. Yes, it was, and I shell never hunt again.

The rest of the trip was uneventful, Daniella did you talk with Ian, so you can figure out what you all can do to save your pact Kat asked. No, I do not want to discuss anything with him, he has ruined everything. I cannot stand to be never him; my whole body gets so hot. I cannot even look at him or smell him, I just am so angry that I get so hot and fidgety. I just need to keep my distance from him.

I just do not understand these feelings is so strange, and I do not know how to control myself around him, not sure if I want to kill him or kiss him. Ka, gasped, Daniella you must stay here in our room you must not be alone with him, do you understand, your father and some of your pact will be here soon. Stay here with us so we know you are safe. I agree to stay with them for the nigh, I can watch you all sleep and think of how I once laid by the two of you and slept. Oh, how I hate Ian.

(Ian)

The ship will be here tomorrow night, how am I ever going to explain to Mactan what happened. I waited for a long-time thinking Daniella would return to my room, but she did not. I guess her and the girls had a lot of catching up to do. I called for Melody, please make sure you take a glass of fresh blood up to Daniella, I am sure she is hungry, make sure she is comfortable and not in need of anything.

As I sit here looking at the wall, I can not get Daniella out of my mind, I think of her pink lips and her sent, I know I have fallen in love with there but I will never be able to have her for what I had done. The best I can hope for is that if I can help her pact recover then just maybe she will forgive me, who am I kidding she will never forgive me. The night drag out seemed as it would never end, I called for Jasmin, please make sure you have the south side of the castle prepared will have guess staying for a few nights, prepare 6 rooms, make sure you send Daniel out to stock the feeding pen with plenty of livestock, and tell him to look up Daniella’s fawn.

Later in the day I went to check the rooms to make sure the where up to my expectation. They where clean beds made up and each room had a wine bottle on the table, Melody did well. I then called for Daniel, did you secure the fawn, he nodded yes, Daniel the fawn will be your responsibility with Daniella’s pact is her do you understand. If anything, shell happened to that fawn you will be put to death, with that Daniel nodded and left the room. Thinking to myself I knew I was harsh with Daniel but if anything happened to that fawn, it would just make her heat he more.

Night have arrived and I can hear Mark in my head the have landed the ship and are on their way to me. I must go get Daniella, so we are together when her father arrives, oh how I dread this. I knock on the girl’s door enter I heard Kat say. Daniella, we need to prepare for your father will be here in the next hour or so. Please come with me to my room so we can talk, we need to be on the same page to help your father and pact. I put my hand out to her, but she just walked right by me headed down the stars and into my room. I flowed behind her and when I was inside of my door, I went to close it Daniella said please leave it open Ian. Daniella, I do not want there to be any blood shad tonight between your pact and my clan, we need to wor5k together to make this work for all. Do you understand me, she looked up at me with those big blue eyes I felt my heart beating so hard and my body temperature going up? All at once we heard a howl Daniella looked at me with fear, its my father he is here. We headed down to the main floor, as we turn the last corner of the dark hall there in all his glory stood Mactan, you could see he was a proud man, and beside him stood two young men. Father Daniella yelled and she ran and jumped into his arms.

(Mactan)

Daniella how are you my dear, I am ok she replied. What is going on I could not reach you I have tried and tried, and now you sent is not that of mine, what is going on here? Ian, I expect an explanation, now. Please take a seat this will take some time to explain Sir Ian replied. Jasmin get some wine and glasses now said Ian, once she returned with the wine Ian poured all of us big glasses full of wine, he explained that he has his own vineyard and makes his own wine. Now shell we get to business.

Ian started to tell my father what had happened, I saw the sadness in my father’s eyes, once Ian was finished everything was silent. I started crying father, father I am so sorry, Ian interrupted and said it is my fault if I would have known what Jasmin had planned, I could have stopped her, is there another that can take Daniella’s place. No there is not my pact is domed, the Ebaben pact has already killed so many of our young females, I have no one left we will all be wiped out in with the next few years. Daniella ran from the room in tears, I wanted to follow her, but my fatherly instincts said let it be.

(Daniella)

I ran as fast as I could up the steps to the safety of my blood sister, I could not contain my self the tears just kept coming. What is wrong Kat yelled out what happened, oh Kat my pack is not going to survive the Ebaben pack has been killing all the young females, my father has no one to offer to take my place. Ian should have let me die I don not want to see this. With this Mary said stop crying I have an Idea, just hear me out. With that the door open and there stood Mark, what ae you girls thing of doing, I want to help. My brother is devasted over this as our you Daniella. What do you propose Mary, you said you have a plan, so tell us what you have in minded?

(Mary)

Well if I where to ask your father to join your pact then I could be change from Ian, take your place in the pact. It will be better then the fate that lie ahead for me, I would be with my own kind and I will be building up your pact to be the largest strongest pact there is. Ian could start the transformation right away. Mark do you think that your father may go for that Daniella, Mark asked, Kat just sitting with her mouth open not seaming to take it in. Think if I could do this your pact will have a good chance of not just surviving but also thriving.

Daniella please let us talk to Ian and you father, for we will not know unless we try. The day that we cut our hand and exchange blood we became sister; I know you would do the same for me. Think Daniella I may have a change at finding my true mate, it will also benefit me. Mark tell her it is for the best, please tell her we can pay the money back to who paid my father for me, although I do not know who we would pay I only know I was to go to London.

I could see Everyone thinking, Daniella looked at me and said are you sure you want to do this, I replied yes. With that Mark escorted the three of us down the steps to the study where Ian and my father where still talking. The room had a big fireplace and it was so beautiful, even with the gray rock it lite up all the things in the room. There was a picture of a man and women over the manel, you could see the love they had for each outer. I knew right away it was Ian mother and father I could see the resemblance. Both men stood to their feet and Daniella said father we need to talk with Ian and you we my have a solution to everything.

(Danielle & Mary)

Please sit-down ladies come would you like a glass of wine, we all nodded yes. Daniella spook first as Mark tried to help her thru the words. Mary has come to me with an Idea, I was losing my though Mark jumped in Mary has offered to join your pack and take the place of Daniella if Ian and you agree.

It would be the best for all I love Daniella and I will do what ever is asked of me, please think it over both of you before you give an answer Mary pleaded. Kat jumped in and said it would work I am sure Mary would bring you fine high breads, she is her and Ian can get started at once, to not loss anymore time. Ian and my father just stared looking at us, but you could see they where both in their thoughts thing this might work. So, do you need time to think this out Father Danielle sked and father said let me sleep on this, with that he set down his glass and left the room. Good night father, I love you.

(Ian)

Mary where did you ever think this up, I think we may have insulted you Father Daniella, thinking that Mary wants to take your please. Mary, I snapped could you not have worded that any better, you will never take her place in her father’s pact. Ian calm down Mark said, she is trying to help, she did not mean as it sounded, she just wants to help. Well then, she should have kept her damn mouth shut and let someone else talk, as far as I am concern NO one will replace Daniella, do you hear me No one.

With that I turned to walk away but was stopped by the soft touch of her hands, I turned and looked at her, those lips, and her eyes I was overtaken with the heat of my body. As she kept her hand locked on my arm, I wanted to grab her and pull her to my face I wanted to bury myself in her chest rub my hands thru her hair. Please Ian she said Mary is trying to help, I was lost in her eyes, I could feel the heat rising in her body. I had to pull away before I took her right there, I pulled my arm away and said Yes Daniella I know.
