Maddison's POV
“Now, I remember thinking that something was off, you know?” Jenna continued to share with Maddison. “Just before she hung up, she changed. She just…she lost that warm, friendly front she had started with. She was all business for just a split moment. And that was it, and she said thanks again, all sweet and nice-sounding, before she hung up.”
A horrible, frighteningly clear vision was forming in Maddison's mind. It was all falling into place in a nasty and shocking pattern that was a whole lot worse than just cheating…this was definitely more than cheating.
“That’s the woman in the picture with Grant,” Maddison said slowly. Her words were all the more chilling because of their lack of emotion. “That’s Vanessa. She’s Grant’s ex-wife.”
