The words that came out of Grant's mouth sounded so sincere and were filled with such amazement that, for one small moment, she really wanted to believe what he was saying. But he was the one who totally destroyed the foundation upon which everything she had ever believed in stood. He had broken her trust into such small pieces; it felt like there was nothing he could do to put them back together.
