Chapter 6

Davina and Ethan walked slowly along the lonely street.
"What's with the awkward silence?" Ethan asked.
"I told you not to follow me," Davina said.
"I just had to. My parents taught me well on how to treat a lady" Ethan said.
Davina looked at him...
"I'm sorry about today" Davina pleaded
"It is nothing, I've forgiven you" Ethan said.
"I was just not in the right mood." Davina explained further.
"It is okay," Ethan assured.
Davina bowed her head, and Ethan was looking at the tall trees as they walked. Three kids jumped out of the dark, and it made Davina frightened - Ethan moved to cover Davina, and Davina holding on to his shirt.
"They are just kids," Ethan said.
Davina left him looking at the kids running around.
"What are you doing in the dark?" Davina asked the three kids who were running happily.
"What then are you doing with your boyfriend by this time of the night!?" One of the kids countered.
Davina scoffed, staring at Ethan who had been staring at her all this while.
"What?" Davina asked.
Ethan shook his head sideways, and they both continued walking.
"Haven't we gotten to your house?" Ethan asked.
"I told you not to follow me," Davina said.
"But, why do you always go there?" Davina looked at Ethan as he asked. "I mean why do you always go to that stream?" Ethan rephrased.
Davina smiled, "It is a long story"
"You can tell me some now, and you can tell me the rest later." Ethan suggested, and Davina stared at him, "How about that?" Ethan asked as he was not getting a reply.
Davina watched Ethan's gold eyes as the moon shines brightly to it.
"You have his eyes," Davina said.
"Whose eyes?" Ethan asked.
"My best friend, or shall I say boyfriend? We were both very young then, so I'd say best friend" Davina narrated.
Ethan looked at her without saying a word, Davina stared at Ethan, and continued.
"We only met twice, and it was in the night, by that stream. He promised to come the third night, but I didn't see him. That two nights we met, it was like we have been friends for a very long time. He was my only friend." Davina explained amidst tears. "And for some reasons, I miss him so much" Davina said as tears dropped down her cheek.
"What was his name?" Ethan asked.
"Jaden" That's his name.
"Nice name," Ethan smiled.
They walked a few steps, and Davina halted.
"That's my house" Davina pointed at the house a few metres in front of them.
"Ooh, let me see you in," Ethan said.
"I don't think you have to," Davina replied.
"My Pare--"
"Your parents taught you well" Davina completed his proposed speech, and Ethan smiled.
They got to the front of the house, and they found out that they were holding hands since the kids incident.
"Ooh So-rry," Ethan stammered.
"What for?" Davina smiled.
Ethan stood still as Davina went to the doorstep, then she rang the doorbell.
"Ding Dong"
Few seconds later, the door opened up.
"Hi Mom"
"Davina, you are home early this time"
"Do you want me to come in later than usual?"
"No No No"
Davina looked at Ethan who was still standing still.
"Go on now" Davina waved her hand gesturing to Ethan to leave.
"Who are you talking to?" Ava asked to get out to see who Davina was talking to.
Ava got out, and her eyes met with Ethan's, and she was shocked.
"Good evening Ma'am" Ethan greeted, bowing down his head.
"Evening" Ava replied. Ava turned to Davina. "Who is he?" Ava asked.
"He is a friend I just met," Davina replied.
"You don't make friends like this," Ava said.
"There is a first time for everything. but, this is not the first time I'm actually making a friend" Davina explained.
Ava turned back to Ethan...
"What's your name?" Ava asked.
"Ethan," Ethan replied.
"Ethan..." Ava said.
"Yes, Ethan Ma'am," Ethan told her again.
"Mum quit talking, let him go" Davina told Ava.
"Goodnight Ethan" Davina waved her hand pushing Ava to enter the house. Ethan stood still until they had entered. He smiled, and turned around to leave, then he heard a voice.
"Will you come down the stream tomorrow?" Davina asked.
Ethan turned back, staring at Davina's face which was behind the window.
"Yes, I'll come. 9PM" Ethan smiled.
"You're just like him," Davina thought.
Ava gazed on Davina's back as she leaned against the window. Davina left the window side to see Ava staring at her.
"Oh Jesus, I thought you had gone inside," Davina said.
"Where did you meet him?" Ava asked.
"Our first meeting was today, but it was not nice though," Davina explained.
"Okay then. I'm off to bed" Ava turned around and left for her room.
"Goodnight Mom!"
"Goodnight!"
Davina smiled, and hurriedly went to the window side, but she didn't see the traces of Ethan. She looked at the chain in her hands, and remembered the competition.
"Good things are just happening to me lately" She thought and smiled.
Ivy Apartment
Ivy went to the sitting room, and met Alisander still watching TV.
"Isn't Ethan back?" Ivy asked.
"No, he has not," Alisander replied, still fixing his eyes on the TV.
"Where can he possibly be?" Ivy whispered.
"Don't worry, he will be fine," Alisander assured.
"No, he can't be, he is in a place where he shouldn't be in" Ivy said.
"What do you mean?" Alisander asked curiously.
"You wouldn't know," Ivy said as she opened the door to the entrance. She saw Ethan at the door.
"Where have you been?" Ivy asked.
"Just strolled out," Ethan replied.
"This is not the states Ethan" Ivy warned.
"Everywhere is the same for me,"Ethan said, remembering Davina. "Not everywhere though" He said walking inside.
Ivy looked at him confusingly...
"Hi Al" Ethan greeted.
"Hi Ethan... You feel energized" Alisander noted.
"I think this place possesses good air, '' Ethan jokes. "I'm going in '' Ethan said, and Ivy stared at Ethan exiting the sitting room.
Ashley walked slowly as she shrugged her eyes...
"Al, you are still awake," Ashley said.
Now, Alisander got distracted from what he was watching. "Yes, I am. Wanna join me?" Alisander offered.
"Yeah sure" Ashley smiled, staring at her Mom.
Ivy looked didn't know what to say, she gave up, and left for her room.
"I'm watching you guys, nothing must happen, because if something does, I'll know" Ivy notified Alisander, and Ashley, who were sitting close to each other.
"Nothing will happen. We are only teenagers, don't corrupt us please" Alisander said. As Ivy left, Ashley looked back to see if she had left, she saw no one, and used the opportunity to move closer to Alisander, placing her head on his shoulder.
Ivy sneaked out, hid herself, and watched both of them...
"You are in the right arms. Please, don't be like me" Ivy thought only to herself, so they were unable to sense her speech.
Ava couldn't sleep as she played Ethan's face in her memory. She switched positions when she became confused. She stood up, and went to Evans room.
Evan heard a knock on his door.
"Who is there?" He asked.
"It is Ava," Ava replied.
"Ooh Mom" Evans hurriedly opened the door for her. "What's the problem?" Evans asked.
Ava went in... "Something disturbs my mind," Ava replied.
"What could that possibly be?" Evans asked.
Ava sat down on his bed, and Evans on his chair.
"You remember Hagar?" Ava asked.
"Is it Hagar the Alpha?" Evans replied.
"Yes"
"What happened to him, he is dead," Evans reminded her.
"I know. Do you know his son?" Ava asked.
"Yes, I do," Evans replied. "We always call him Indoor Gold Eyes," Evans reminded her.
"Yes, yes, Indoor Gold Eyes" Ava repeated.
"What's his name again? I was used to calling him Indoor Gold Eyes" Evans smirked.
"His name is Jaden," Ava said.
"Yes, Jaden," Evans snapped his fingers. "Why all these questions though?" Evans stared at Ava suspiciously.
Ava kept quiet...
"Stop keeping in suspense Mom" Evans became impatient with the silence.
"I saw him today," Ava said.
"You mean, you saw Jaden today?" Evans asked to be sure.
"Yes, I did," Ava replied.
"So, his son is not dead - Maybe he is the one responsible for the deaths of the Alphas" Evans thought out loud staring at Ava, and Ava stared back at him.
"I will have to believe that the person you saw wasn't Jaden," Evan said.
"I hope I'm wrong too," Ava replied, standing up to leave.
Evans opened the door for her, as she went out.
"But, my eyes are functioning very well. My eyes can't deceive me" Ava said.
