Freshman Blood Dhampir Dylan Book One Aria Storm Prologue: Her cold hands touched me, as her dark purple eyes beheld me with freezing tears. I could feel the immense grief, the insurmountable agony of loss burning through the room. I remember her face, and her eyes, even to this day. The last time I saw my mum, Mavis. Dreams turn violent, as my mind relives the war nearly two decades prior. In the darkness of the past, lurks future threats. Mom, and Morgana kissed, as Morgana said, “Anne, we will meet again. When we do, I want to know this one has lived a full and healthy life. Many powers will come for her. She is the first of her kind, the first ever dhampir.” There was a languid exchange, and the pair seemed almost unwilling to look away from one another. My baby-self cried, as I felt their sorrow singing to me like a dark melody. “Don’t you worry little lamb; yer mammy will always look over ye.” Mavis said to me, as she strode off into a room nearby with a determined stride. Her red hair flowing as silken crimson in the subdued light. I felt her darkness expanding, as the black vortex opened, and swallowed her. Morgana swore and hurried off after Mavis. That was the day both my ginger mums vanished from all the lower worlds.
