Alice’s POV: I held my phone tightly to my chest, hearing the morning chirps. Sunlight filled the sky; pure scattered light dashed through the thin curtains. My eyes raced towards the ticking clock, following the motion of hands. With breath paused in my lungs, I wished time would pass faster.
