CHAPTER 1

1232 Words
" You seriously can't be doing this right now!" Larry screamed and I can't help but cover my head with a pillow, he is such a loud ass. " Kelvin you can't be serious right now!" he continues but this time he took the duvet away from me making me to groan out in frustration as I hugged myself into a ball. Why on earth is this annoying dude my cousin? " Will you get up or would some cold water on you do better?" he asked sternly and I know better than to keep adamant because the Larry I know won't hesitate before pouring me water on the bed. I sighed and sat up staring daggers at him but he don't look like he cares, he took a seat at the edge of my table staring daggers back at him. Of course he is the only person who can dare to enter my room to disturb the s**t out of me and I won't be able to do anything to him. " Sitting there and staring wont do us any good, get into the bathroom and take a shower. You can't possibly let all my efforts in preparing this party be in vain." he said nonchalantly as he picked up a magazine and started flipping through it. " Well, I don't remember begging you to organize any party in my name. " I sighed getting up from the bed, arguing with Larry should be the most useless thing to do in this world because nothing reasonable will come out of it. I dragged my tired body into the bathroom cursing internally. I worked all through the day and the only thing my body yearns for right now is to crash on my bed and sleep off to the dreamworld but one person has sworn to never let that happen. Yes it's my birthday but I never begged him to host any party in my name, I have grown up and passed that level. Only lazy men still bothers about birthday parties at the age of twenty-three, 23! The warm water was so refreshing and I couldn't help sighing with pleasure as it rolled down my body from my head relaxing my muscles. I love taking showers and no matter how many times I bathed in a day the refreshing feeling is still there if not more addicting. I step out of the bathroom to meet Larry still sitting on the table, he was on call occasionally giving out orders on how to arrange some things. I don't know if there is a being like Larry anywhere all over the world, the psychopath enjoys organizing parties more than anything. He can trade anything for entertainment and partying around. Asides from being my cousin, Larry has been my best friend right from childhood though we are like two opposite coins. I love the business world that only involves making deals and transactions, inventions and creativity while Larry is a lover of frivolities. According to him he wants a free life, traveling on vacations, partying around, f*****g bitches and many more. Larry is born in the middle of five sisters and as the only male heir he was expected to take over and start managing his family business just like I'm doing now but he was far from even considering that. His owns a studio where he produces music and supports young artists, he also owns an entertainment club where all the high class businessmen visits for relaxation but none of these achievements presented as anything to his parents. His parents has done everything to get him to reconsider even to the extent of threatening to disown him but he still didn't bother. Aunt is always using me as example while scolding him and that's the only time I can genuinely laugh at him, Aunt is such a fierce woman and is always chasing him round the country, their fight is always funny. " The special guests have started arriving so we have to hurry up." he said after hanging up on the phone. "What is funny?" he asked as he looked up from the phone and I couldn't help the smile spreading through my face. " Aunt came to my office today day looking for you, where did you hide?" I intentionally brought up the issue laughing out loud. " Must you really bring that up now?" his face changed instantly giving me the satisfaction I was looking for. This is what he gets for disturbing me this night, don't blame me though . But except for this rebel issues between him and aunt there is nothing else I can mock Larry with in this whole world while he has many to mock me with. Larry mocks me for not having a social life apart from business, he mocks me for not having a love life, he mocks me for not knowing how to flirt with ladies, he has dozens of things to mock me with so this is the only one I have over him. Larry is a popular dude and can skillfully flirt with any woman of his choice, not like I want that but it still hurts my pride when he boasts about his love lives to me. He has numerous girlfriends and you can call him a skillful player because none of them has ever caught him cheating. He boasts that he is gifted in the aspect of treating women right that none of them would even suspect him of cheating. Like I said, Larry and I are like fire and water, complete opposite. Throughout my whole twenty-three years of life I only had one girlfriend who unfortunately is already late. The story about my ex girlfriend, Grace is one huge wound engraved into my heart which has become impossible to clean. Grace was the only girl in high school that caught my attention and with Larry's coaching I was able to confess my feelings to her which she accepted straight, she was having crush on me even before I approached her. That was not unexpected though, I have always been the dream of every girl right childhood so I was not surprised. I started dating Grace in senior class, we were 15 years then but unexpectedly Grace got pregnant. Larry suggested we abort it but I disagreed. I took Grace home and it didn't end well. I have talked about Larry's mother but my mother is worse and I hate her. She kicked against the union of Grace and I. However I stood up to her which was surprising because I never did that before, I guess the saying that "love makes many impossible things possible" was after all true. That night was a nightmare for me. After a heated argument with my mom, I angryly left the house with Grace. It was raining laboriously but I didn't mind, I needed to show my woman that I love her and can protect her from anybody even if it's from my family. I plan on moving out if my mom was going to keep kicking against our relationship but I needed to lodge us in a hotel for the night, unfortunately along the way the disaster happened, a truck ran over our car. That night I lost not just my girlfriend and our baby but I also lost everything.
