CHAPTER 2

Kelvin's pov I woke up from comma three months later the accident to hear that Grace didn't make it through the accident. That was was the toughest moment of my life, I still can't get over the guilt of killing Grace. If I hadn't taken her to out of the house that night the accident wouldn't have happened. I also hated my mom and I'm not sure if will be able to forgive her. The death of Grace did not only shatter me but I also developed a physiological disorder that has refused to be cured. I can't be close to any woman nor want them, it feels like I became allergic to women and I understood why it is so. That is my brain's way of punishing myself for killing Grace. I have met every therapist recommended all over the world but none could cure my disorder. It was so serious that when I took over my father's company I sacked every woman working on the fifteenth floor where my office is located. There has been rumors going around about me being a gay but I care less, even if I wanted to debunk the rumors I can't so I just let it be, after all it will help reduce the number of marriage offers I receive from all those old businessmen ready to give out their spoilt daughters for business collaborations. " Wow!" Larry exclaimed as I exited from my wardrobe. " Don't you think it was so partial of the creator to give you the best of everything? How can you be this handsome huh?" he continued praising me making me to roll my eyes, why won't he hype me when he has gotten what he wanted. As soon as I stepped out of the room I nearly regret it, the banging music attacked my ear hitting directly to my cochlea. My room was soundproofed that is why I haven't been hearing the music coming from the compound. " Why on earth didn't you take this party to your club!" I asked raising my voice through the music so that he can hear me. " Dude with the way you was hesitating about the party I was not sure if you will agree to pay for booking my club afterwards, that is business and I don't play with business. " he replied with a smile annoying me the more. Larry may be a rebel who wants nothing to do with his father's business but that genetic engineering of business mindset is always in his head. He don't joke with his investments and the things he call business even if it doesn't count as business to his parents. He is dedicated to his interests and I love him for that. " You are correct though, I wouldn't have paid for the booking because I never begged you." I told him moving ahead of him as we exited the building. Its going to be a long night and I can't wait for it to end so that I can go back and sleep, I still have work tomorrow. As we entered the venue the anchor announced my presence making the guests to erupt into screams. I'm not surprised to see that the majority of the crowd are ladies from rich and famous business families. They must have come to find a suitor but not like I have issues with that provided it's not me because if their target is me then they will go home disappointed as usual. " I was almost thinking that you won't come but I guess I underestimated Larry." a female voice which I'm so familiar with said from my back. I turned around and there she stood with a smirk that says you are defeated again. I scoffed, I think my sister, Ella and Larry were created same day. Their only goal is to annoy me all the days of their life. " You look good." she added giving me a side hug. " No thank you." I replied and she smiled. " You are welcome bro." I didn't reply again as we proceed to the center of party where I greeted the guests using Larry's written speech before we went and sat at a corner. I took one glass of wine and focused on my phone, they may have succeeded in dragging me here but they can't force me to socialize with people. I was engrossed on my phone for like five minutes when two tiny hands covered my eyes from behind and I smiled. Just the familiar perfume is all it takes for me to know the owner of the hands. I unhooked the hands and dragged her to my front, she was a smiling mess. "Brother Kelvin." she called smiling. " Deborah! What are doing here?" I asked her and she made a cute face making me to laugh. " You know that you are not yet of age to attend parties, how did you sneak out of home by this time?" " I have my ways." she laughed." Happy birthday Brother Kelvin. " " Thank you very much Debby, I also got your gift at the office today. That was a lot, thanks. " I appreciated her which she she shyly accepted with a nod. Deborah is the daughter of my father's best friend, our families are very close. Deborah is an only child and her mother has some hatred about nannies so she usually leave Deborah for me and Ella to babysit when she has somewhere to go. Deborah grew up right in my face and I guess that is why I can still touch her without feeling repulsive, maybe my brain has processed her as a sister. One of party attendants passed and she collected two glasses of wines, gave me one and took one. " You are still too young to be taking alcohol this child!" I whisper screamed in her ear and she laughed. " Then can brother Kelvin keep this as a secret?" she replied and I nodded with a smile, she is so adorable. She did a pinky swear and we swore. Deborah made the party to be less boring as she tells me about her day and school, we laughed as she tells me some petty ladies' fights at school. The party keep going on but suddenly I felt like something does not feel right. I wanted to shake it away but I was getting dizzier as the seconds pass by, my body tingled and started reacting in ways I least expected now. I picked my phone and texted Larry, I don't know if he got it or not but I hastenly left the party. I need to be away from here as soon as possible.
