We think Isaac and Erica want to kill Lydia
That was the text Scott sent me earlier. I just...I couldn't believe it. Why would they want to kill her? She didn't do anything... that I know of.
What? Why?!
I swear that my hands are shaking right now. Just thinking of Lydia dead makes knots form in my stomach. And it's even worse when it's by werewolves.
They think she's the Kanima
When I read that text, I froze. Lydia's not the Kanima! She can't be! Why the heck would they think that?! That's ridiculous!!
But she isn't!
Of course she isn't, i'm pretty sure about that. Something tells me that she's not. And that something is always right.
We know she isn't. That's why we have a plan to protect her

''Penny, Allison called. She's coming over'' Karen said entering the room.
I nodded. ''Thanks''
And right when she was about to close the door, I stopped her. She had to tell me why she acted so strange when Scarlet came. ''Yes?'' she said.
''Can you tell me why you were so weird when Scarlet was here?'' I said standing up.
''I wasn't weird'' she said, but it sounded more like a lie.
I rolled my eyes. ''Tell me''
She knows better than to lie to me. I know her very well, and I know that something's bothering her. She sighed as she closed the door behind her. ''Okay, fine. I'll tell you, only 'cause you're my sister''
I smiled in victory. ''What's up? What's bothering you?''
She sighed, again, before answering. ''Promise you won't get mad at me?''
Confused, I slowly nodded. ''Okay...?''
It took her a few seconds to talk. It was quite visible that it was hard for her to say whatever she was going to say. It can't be that bad, right?
''I still have feelings for Derek''

I didn't realize that my mouth was open this whole time. For a moment, I just zoomed out, trying to process the words that came out of her mouth. Did she just say what I thought she said?
''What?!'' I asked in disbelief.
''Don't get mad at me, you promised!'' she said covering her face with a pillow.
''But... you... what the...you said that... I thought you were over him!''
''I know! And I did, too! But one day I was going to his house and tell him something...when I saw him and Scarlet kissing. And, I don't know, I felt... jealous, and I realized that I still have feelings for him'' she said frustrated.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. So, she saw that? Well, I can't blame her. I tried to forget Scott once, but it was no use. I could be happy for her, but then I think of... Scarlet. Things are getting difficult...
''What do I do, Penny?'' she asked, and I noticed the tears in her eyes.
I get you, Karen...
''Karen,'' I said placing an arm around her shoulder. ''I'm not really good at giving advices, but what I can tell you is that this is completely normal. It's just that Scarlet's on her way to Derek's house to talk to him''
She frowned. ''I never thought that there would be so much drama. I never even thought that Derek would fall for both Scarlet and I, and at the end he ended up with her''
''Don't worry, Scarlet. You'll find the right guy for you''
''But you don't understand!! I really, really, really like him. More than I have ever liked anyone else'' she said.
''I do understand, Karen. It happened to me-''
''With Scott,'' she finished for me. ''And now you two are together. He used to date Allison and you never stopped loving him. The same's happening to me, now''
... Well, that's true. But no, it just doesn't fit! I mean, it's not that Karen and Derek don't make a cute couple -they do a really cute couple- , but I don't think they're really meant for each other. But, once again, I could be wrong about it. But that something inside me is never wrong...
I didn't say anything, I just shrugged. ''We'll see''
And before any of us could say something else, the door bell rang. ''That's Allison'' I said.
I quickly rushed downstairs and opened the door. There she was with a small smile on her face, and by the look in her eyes, I could tell that she wasn't very happy. ''Hey'' I greeted.
''Hi'' she said back.
''Come in'' I said, and she did as told.
''Something wrong?''
When I said this, she quickly turned around, the small smile that was on her face replaced by a straight line. She looked like she could kill someone, all of a sudden. ''Bitchy Erica, that's what's wrong!''
''What did she do to you?'' I said chuckling a little.
''She threatened me in chemistry class. She thinks she's soo cool and pretty, just because she's a werewolf and everyone wants to be her lab partner. Well, she's not!!'' she said angrily.
Honestly, it was funny, and I couldn't help but to laugh a little. ''I'm sorry, Allison. It's just that I have never seen you so mad before, and it's really funny''
''Oh, you won't be laughing for too long. You know what else she was doing? She was flirting with Scott!!''
That... that b***h!!! I thought as I stopped laughing. ''Oh, so she thinks that just because i'm not in school she can just go to Scott and flirt with him?!''
''She's horrible!'' Allison added.
''Yup, she is,'' Karen said. ''I once sat next to her at lunch -when she wasn't popular- 'cause I thought that she was a nice person. Now that she's a werewolf, she makes fun of my hair, calling me 'Bloody Karen'. That's not even a good insult!!''
''That's a stupid insult'' Allison said, and Karen and I nodded in agreement.
Then all of a sudden, Allison jumped in realization. ''I forgot to tell you, we found the bestiary!''
I gasped. ''You did?! How?!''
''Well, I quietly entered Gerard's office during lunch, and I found it between some files'' she explained.
''That's great!''
''Yup. And I asked Mrs.Morrell to translate a page, and this is what it said'' she said handing me a piece of paper.
Like the wolf, its power is greatest at the moon's peak. Like the wolf, the kanima is a social creature but where the wolf seeks a pack the kanima seeks a friend.

''Yup''
''The kanima seeks a friend?'' I said, to which she shrugged.
''Yeah, I didn't understand that, either. It's hard to believe that that ugly creature wants a friend''
''Well, it's just like Frankenstein, I think'' I said.
She rolled her eyes. ''You and your movie talk. Anyways, we already have a plan to protect Lydia. I suppose Scott already told you''
I shook my head. ''He only told me about Isaac and Erica wanting to kill Lydia''
''Well, i'll tell you. We will be taking Lydia to Scott's house tonight. I suggest you bring your bow and your arrows. Scarlet will be bringing her Katana'' she explained.
''Okay'' I replied.
''Can I come, too? I really wanna help to protect Lydia'' Karen said.
''Sure. The more help we get, the better it is'' Allison said. ''Wait, maybe Bryson should come, too, you know, since he's a werewolf''
''But he's sick. I don't know if he could come'' I said.
''Then, we'll just have to wait until tonight''
