Chapter 3

I placed an arm around Allison's shoulders. She looked at me, giving me a weak smile while whipping a tear away and sniffing. We were at Kate's funeral. Yeah, right now!! After like 4 months after she died. I really don't why, but it's kinda weird for me. Allison had invited me to the funeral because... well... she was technically my aunt, so I said yes, even though Chris was going to be here. Just so you know, I still haven't forgiven him. But Allison and I are closer than ever... ''I still can't believe she used to date Derek'' Allison said chuckling, as she placed her head on my shoulder. I joined her. ''I know. Who would've thought of that?'' ''You know, she wasn't a bad person'' she said. I sighed. ''I know. She was just..... a b***h'' I heard Allison laugh a little. ''You're right'' ''But she was a werewolf hunter, so that made her a bad person for them'' I said shrugging and she nodded. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a guy further from us. He was looking at us, and taking pictures. Honestly, he looked like a stalker. Then when he saw me looking he smirked. He was cute, but not as cute as Scott. That's obvious! I started to eye him suspiciously until someone cleared their throat. Both Allison and I looked up to see an old man standing next to us, grinning. ''You must be Allison, right?'' he said looking at Allison. She nodded and asked politely, ''Do I know you?'' ''Why, don't you remember me?,'' the guy said and she shook her head. ''I'm Gerard Argent. I'm your grandfather'' ''Oh, i'm sorry. It's just that I didn't remember you'' Allison said. He chuckled. ''That's okay. After all, it's been a while since I last saw you,'' he turned to me. ''And you must be Penny. My long lost grandaughter'' I gave him a small smile and shrugged a little. ''I guess'' ''You girls are even more beautiful than I imagined you'' he said smiling. I smiled back but something behind Gerard caught my eye. I don't know if it was just my imagination, or if it was real. Scott and Stiles were hiding behind a grave stone. When they saw me Scott put his index finger on his lips, in a 'Shh' way. I nodded a little, careful that Gerard didn't see me, and not to look like i'm crazy and talking to myself. Soon I knew it, Scott and Stiles were being pulled away by Sheriff Stilinski to the back of a patrol car. I was about to excuse myself when Gerard asked, ''Say, Penny, why don't you join us tonight for dinner?'' ''I-I really don't know, sir. I mean, I don't know if Victoria wants me there-'' ''Forget about her. I invited you, and she can't do anything about it'' he said. I really didn't want to go, mostly because of Victoria. I don't want to receive glares from her the whole night. Last time we saw each other wasn't very pretty. She was yelling at Chris, telling him not to see me again. To be honest, I really didn't care. I don't want to see him, anyways. I only go there to see Allison, because she's my sister and one of my best friends. So, deal with it, bitch... Finally I made up my mind and nodded. ''Okay. I'll go with you'' He smiled. ''Excellent. Now, you should tell your parents'' ''Actually, my cousin's picking me up'' I said. ''Then tell your cousin'' and with that he left. ''He was.... interesting'' Allison said. ''Kinda weird, in my opinion'' I added and she nodded. Just then a car arrived, and I quickly recognized that car as Jake's. For no reason, I rolled my eyes at my dumb cousin. ''There he is'' Allison and I stood next to the car and Jake rolled down the window, grinning. ''Hey Penny,'' he turned to Allison. ''Hey there. Who's the pretty lady?'' Allison giggled quietly next to me. ''I'm Allison'' ''My sister'' I added. ''Oh, so you're Penny's unexpected half-sister? That's nice. I'm Jake, by the way'' he said, giving her a flirty look. Oh dear... She nodded. ''Pleasure to meet you. So, my grandfather invited Penny to our house tonight, and I was wondering if you could let her come'' He nodded. ''Sure. Anything for you-I mean, Penny'' Allison blushed, making me roll my eyes. ''Well, thank you, Jake. You can go now'' I said. He frowned. ''Fine. See you later, Allison'' My mouth was hanging wide open as he left. ''He didn't say goodbye to me!'' Allison started to laugh, and I playfully hit her arm. We made to the Argent house. I really didn't want to be here right now, and I guess you already know the answer. I didn't want to see them. Okay, I have to stop thinking about them. They're not worth my brain! Who cares about them, anyways? Not me... ''Here we are'' Gerard said as the three of us hopped out of his car. Yeah, Chris left earlier and he doesn't know i'm coming... ''Don't worry. It's going to be alright'' Allison whispered. I nodded. I hope it is... Gerard knocked on the door. It was after a few seconds that the door opened, revealing Chris standing there. His eyes widen when he saw me. ''Penny?'' ''Hi'' I said with no emotion. I wasn't even looking at him! The awkwardness surrounding the air was making me feel uncomfortable. Thank God Gerard spoke. ''Hi, son. May we come in, now?'' This time I looked at Chris. Finally, he stopped looking at me. He nodded at Gerard and stepped out of the way. When we entered it was really quiet. I was wondering if Victoria was here. But after a few minutes of standing there I realized she wasn't. I sighed with relief. I didn't want to deal with her. Maybe dinner won't be so bad after all, despite that Chris was here. Oh, thank God she wasn't here! Right now I wanted to scream in joy, and do a happy dance- ''Oh, you're here. Dinner's almost ready- what is she doing here?'' Damn! And just when I thought everything was perfect. I couldn't help but to glare back at Victoria. If looks could kill... Right before I was about to speak Gerard spoke first. ''I invited her here, Victoria. She's my guest'' ''I thought I told you not to come here ever again'' she said, ignoring what Gerard just said. It's true, she did. But do you really think I care about what she says?! ''You're not the boss of me. Besides, I can come here, since Allison's my sister'' I said. ''She is not your sister! To us, you don't exist. Our lives were perfectly fine, until you came'' ''You're just mad because Chris cheated on you with my mum'' I said. I know I have to be a good girl, but Victoria's face is priceless right now! I swear that if I could take a picture right now, I would. In fact, why don't I just take out my cell phone right- ''Chris never loved your mother. She's a b***h!'' Oh no, you did NOT just called my mum a b***h!! I thought as I angrily stepped in front of her. Nobody, and I mean nobody, calls my mum a b***h!! ''Even if he didn't love her he was still with her, way before he married you. And my mum's not a bitch.........................................you are'' I said smirking. But right before I finished talking Victoria slapped me. Hard. I almost fell to the floor, if Chris didn't catch me early. She ignored the yells from Allison and glared at me even more. ''Get out!'' Silence. I could feel everyone looking at me, but I ignored them. My eyes were glued to Victoria's. Her eyes were so full of hatred and rage. It kinda made me scared, but I wasn't going to show it. My glare was just as strong as hers. ''I SAID GET OUT!!'' I didn't say anything else. I shook Chris' hands off me and made my way to the door as I muttered, ''I'll see you tomorrow, Allison'' I closed the door shut behind me, ignoring the yells that started to form inside the house. It's official. I hate her. I hate herso much. I think I hate her even more than Dolores Umbridge, and that's saying something! I sighed as I walked my way home, my skin still burning from the slap. I think a bruise is starting to form....
