Penny's POV
"Do I really have to be here, Penny?" Lydia whined.
I nodded, my eyes not leaving my phone. "Yes, you have to. Why don't you wanna go in? It's just an office"
We were in the waiting area of the Guidance Councilor's office. I was against the wall texting Scott about meeting him, Allison and Stiles at the forest, while Lydia and a guy I didn't know were waiting to enter the office, both sitting on a chair next to each other. I could see the guy looking at Lydia every now and then.
She shrugged. "I just don't wanna be here, when I can be out there taking Spanish class"
"You hate Spanish class"
"I hate this even more," she said crossing her arms on her chest. "By the way, where's Scarlet? Didn't see her today"
"Yesterday she told me that she was going to talk to Derek today, I don't know why" I replied.
I wasn't too happy when Scarlet said she would talk to Derek. That would only hurt her even more. But she sounded very secure about it. Besides, if he hurts her she will kick his butt.
I swear the girl's like a ninja...
"So, why are you here?" the guy said to Lydia.
Lydia gave me an annoyed look before turning to the guy replying, "I have an acute phobia of people prying into my personal life"
The guy looked a little taken aback, but then he smirked as he said,"You're cute, but narcissistic, too"
"Thank you" Lydia said whilst I rolled my eyes.
I was getting bored, so I took a look at my locket. When I opened it I saw the two photos I added yesterday. The one on the left was a photo that we took last weekend when we went to the movies. Scott decided to take the picture, 'cause if he appeared on the picture his eyes would be shinning, just like it happened when we were ice skating. So, the photo had me, Stiles, Allison, Karen, Bryson, Lydia, and Scarlet, all of us making funny faces. Yup, the locket's big enough to fit that bunch of people. Then on the right it had a picture of me and Scott, way before he turned into a werewolf. I believe it was his 15th birthday. He had his face full of chocolate icing while his arms were wrapped around me, the both of us laughing. We sure had a great time that day.
I smiled as I eyed both pictures one more time before closing the locket. Finally, the student that was inside the office left, and it was now Lydia's turn. "Lydia, your turn"
She sighed as she stood up. "Will you come with me?"
"Sure" I said nodding.
"Good afternoon, Lydia. Please sit down. Penny, is there something you need?" Mrs. Morrell said.
I shook my head as I sat down next to Lydia. "No, ma'am, I'm just here to wait for Lydia"
"Well, maybe you should wait outside-"
"No, please let her stay" Lydia cut her off.
I looked at Mrs. Morrell with a pleading look as she started to think about it. Luckily, she let me stay. "Okay. Lydia, how's it going in-"
"Can I ask you something, Mrs. Morrell?" Lydia said, not letting her talk.
Mrs. Morrell looked confused, but said, "Sure, what is it?"
"What's your nationality?" Lydia asked.
It was now me who was very confused by this. Why would Lydia want to know that? It was so... random.
Mrs. Morrell was confused, too, but answered anyways. "I'm French-Canadian, why?"
"Oh nothing. It's just that you don't look that smart" Lydia said as if it was nothing.
And that's when I remembered. Lydia never liked Mrs. Morrell that much. She always used to make fun of her, and it all started when Mrs. Morrell told her to do a little of exercise. Lydia, being Lydia, thought that she had called her fat, when Mrs. Morrell only said it because Lydia doesn't participate in gym class.
Mrs. Morrell didn't look mad at this. Instead, she said, "For your information, Lydia, I have Masters in Behavioral Psychology and I have done over 300 hours of field work"
"Wow, that's impressive" Lydia said sarcastically.
Mrs. Morrell ignored Lydia's comment and started to talk about what they had to. "So Lydia, how do you feel here in school?"
"I feel perfectly fine, because my friends have been supportive about my injuries and other recent experiences. I know that I can trust them implicitly" Lydia replied.
I couldn't help but to smile at Lydia. It feels good to know that she can trust us. She always told me that she can trust me, but she never said that she can trust her FRIENDS, so yes it's a big deal...
Mrs. Morrell didn't do anything, she just nodded. And right when she was about to talk, Lydia added, "Sometimes the people closest to you can be the ones holding you back the most"
Mrs. Morrell and I looked at her in confusion. That's very weird to come out from Lydia. "Where did that statement come from?"
Lydia, too, looked kinda confused at first, but then she just shrugged. "I think I've heard it somewhere"
And I think I did, too. When she said those words they sounded so familiar. But where have I heard them? Ugh, my mind's so slow, I know I've heard it somewhere!! Think, think, THINK!!!!!!
I go nothing...
As I walked through the halls I couldn't stop thinking about what Lydia said. Maybe it's not that big of a deal, but it was so strange that Lydia said it. Come to think of it, she's been acting very weird. First running naked in the woods, then the cuts, and now what she said. And it all started when Peter attacked her...
Wait a minute...
Peter....
...
...
...
...
... s**t!!!
Peter was the one who said those words!!! Those exact same words that Lydia said, they came out of Peter's mouth!! This is getting weird. This is getting VERY weird. I have to do something. I have to tell Scott before something else-
BUMP
Ow! Someone just bumped into me. I'm kinda angry, but at the same time I'm happy, 'cause this time I wasn't the one to bump into someone!!
"Sorry" the person said.
"It's okay" I said as we both stood up.
I looked at the person in front of me. I immediately recognized him, he was the photographer that was in Kate's funeral. The stalker!!
"I'm Matt, by the way," he said. "And you're Penny, right?"
STALKER!!! "Yes, I am"
He nodded. "It's good to finally meet you"
I slowly nodded at the stalker, I mean, Matt. "It's good to meet you, too, I guess"
We stayed there looking. At each other. He had a small smirk on his face that gave me the willies. He was so creepy! "Well, I should be going. My boyfriend's probably waiting for me"
"Oh, that's right. You're dating Scott, right?"
"Yup," I said. "I'll see you later"
"Okay. Bye" he said as I walked away.
As I walked I looked back for a second to find Matt still staring at me. I quickly turned away trying to ignore him.
Freak...
~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay, sooo.... let's think of a plan to find the Bestiary" Stiles said.
We were now in the forest, trying to think of a plan to get the Bestiary from Gerard. "The important question is, where is it?"
"Probably in his office" Allison replied and I nodded in agreement.
"How do we get into his office without being seen?" Scott asked.
"Well, maybe Penny and I can enter" Allison said.
"Do you really think that just because you're his granddaughters you can enter easily?" Stiles said.
"We could give it a shot" I said shrugging.
"Right. We'll have to start tomorrow" Scott said. "Stiles, you'll have to keep going as a messenger"
At this, Stiles groaned. "Why can't Allison be the messenger?"
"Because my parents check every call, text, and email I send. It's no use" Allison explains.
"And Penny?"
"I have enough with dealing with Gerard, thank you very much" I said crossing my arms on my chest.
"Please, Stiles" Scott said.
By now, all of us were pleading Stiles to be the messenger. It's important that we keep him as a messenger. Luckily, he agreed.
"Fine!!"
