Chapter 19

1363 Words
Next day, we had school, obviously. Scott and Stiles weren't here, and I was starting to get worried. Yesterday, after the party, very late that night, they went to find the Kanima. Bryson went along with them. I wasn't cool with that, but do I really think they would listen to me? Of course not. Despite that, I admire their courage. What bother me most is that after that, I received no calls, no texts.... until now. 'We're at the forest. We caught Jackson' I sighed when I finished reading the text. At least they're alright, and at least they caught Jackson. That's a big relief. 'Good. Is Bryson alright?' 'Yes, he's here with us. He did a good job, he helped us a lot' Another sigh of relief escaped my mouth when I read the first word. If something happened to Bryson, or any of them, I would never forgive myself. Thankfully, everything's alright now. 'I'm sure he did. :)' I placed my phone in my pocket as I walked towards Gerard's office. He had called Allison earlier to talk to her about something, but she still hadn't come out. I have a feeling that they're not talking about school. Knowing Gerard, it might be something to do with Scott and Stiles, and probably Jackson. But, i'm pretty sure that it isn't a good thing... I took a few steps that led me in front of the office. I stood there for a moment before extending my hand to open it, but it was opened by Allison first. She looked scared and nervous at the same time. So scared that she didn't even notice I was there, making her bump into me. "Whoa, Allison, what's wrong?" I said as she gasped. "I'll explain it to you on our way to class," she breathed. "I just wanna get out of here" "Yeah, okay" Gerard must've done something bad to Allison to make her act like this. It worried me. "Wait a minute" she stopped walking as something above us caught her eye. I followed her gaze, which led my eyes to a surveillance camera that was looking straight at us. "Was that camera here before?" Allison said. I shook my head without looking at her. "I don't think so" "Let's go, this is getting creepy every minute" Allison said as she grabbed my hand, leading me to our English class. So, Allison had explained to me about why was she so scared. Just as I thought, he asked her questions about Scott and Stiles. He also asked her where she was during the Kanima attack. But that wasn't what freaked out Allison. He checked her pulse to see if she was lying or not, that's what freaked her out. I mean, who does that??!! And the most freakish part is that he found out that she was lying!! Creepy old man... We made it to the English classroom, took our usual seats, and waited for the teacher to arrive. I was waiting to see something written on the chalkboard, like I usually do, but to my surprise, it was empty. Maybe she isn't coming? If that's the case, then i'll be extremely happy. It will give me more time to calm Allison down, since she's still pretty nervous about what happened earlier. Besides, the free hour could be good to talk to Scott and see how are things going... "Your English teacher couldn't be here today. So... I'll be her substitute" a voice that I knew so well was heard as she walked into the classroom. I didn't even have to look up from my notebook to see who it was. I knew that voice so well, it made me groan quietly. Out of all people they had to pick her? I looked at Allison. She had a shocked look on her face, just like me. She obviously didn't know about this, either. I sighed back and turned around, not wanting to, and preparing myself for hell with Victoria Argent. 'Help me, God...' ~~~~~~ Grandma said that she wanted to give me her birthday present today. She seemed very excited about it, so I decided to not let her waiting. After all, it's grandma we're talking about! Allison decided to go with us. Since we're half-sisters I thought that it would be good if grandma met her, even though they're not actually related, but still.... We hopped out of Allison's car. "Whoa. This is where your grandma lives?" Allison said, looking at the big house in front of us. "Yeah. My grandad left his company in her hands before he died, so yeah" I explained. "Oh," she said. "Wow" It was a humongous house, really, almost like a mansion. We have a lot of fun everytime we stay here, but I have to admit that it was a lot more fun when my grandad was alive. But still, grandma's super cool. And speaking of grandma... "Penny, dear, it's so great to see you again! Look how beautiful you are!" she said coming out of the house, embracing me in a huge hug. "It seems like yesterday when you were only a little baby. Now look at you, seventeen years old" "It's nice to see you, too, grandma" I said smiling as we pulled away. She turned to Karen and hugged her. "And look at my little Red. How are you doing, sweettie?" "I'm great. Thanks, grandma" Karen said. "We need to bake some more cookies, young lady" grandma said pointing a finger at her. Karen laughed as she nodded. "Of course" And finally, she looked at Allison. "And you must be Penny's half-sister, right?" Allison nodded. "It's very nice to meet you, ma'am" "Oh please, call me Mary. You can even call me grandma" grandma said smiling, even giving Allison a hug. Yup, that's grandma... "Please, come in" she said, us following her to the house. Everything was the same as I remember. Grandma's not one to change a lot. And I'm glad she didn't change anything, 'cause I like it this way. "So, would you girls like anything to drink?" grandma said as she sat on the love seat, and we sat on a couch facing her. The three of us shook our heads at the same time. "Well then, in that case, i'll just give Penny's present now" I nodded, smiling. It was probably money. Most of the time she gives us money, so i'm not impressed if I see fifty dollars in her hand. But to my surprise, she had a small jewelry box that, instead. It was wrapped up, but you could totally guess that it was a necklace. "Here you go, dear" she said handing me the box. "Thanks, grandma" I said eyeing it and smiling. "Open it" she said grinning. I did as I was told, and ripped off the wrapper. The box was white, and when I opened it, it was a beautiful silver necklace that had a transparent sphere hanging from it. The inside of the sphere was like a lava lamp, only the lava was silver. "Oh, wow. This is beautiful, grandma!" I said, picking up the necklace and putting it on around my neck. "The sphere shines at dark places," she added. "Its purpose it's to remind you that in the most darkest times, there's always a light at the end of the path. My mother used to say that to me all the time, so I thought that I might give that to you" "Cool" Allison and Karen said at the same time. After that, we talked a little more with grandma. I told her about Scott and I dating -since I never told her- , I told her about Jake and Ginny staying at our house, and I told her about Bryson being a werewolf. Unlike others in my family, grandma believes about werewolves. Before I knew that Scott was a werewolf, I didn't believe her. Actually, at one point I thought that she was crazy, but now I don't. So, I also told her about Scott being a werewolf, and all that bibittybum... It was good talking to grandma again...
