My eyes flutter open, taking in the sight of a white ceiling with a small fan spinning fast.
Where am I?
The question swarms my mind then follows after the memories all at once. The painful tug at my chest returns.
I quickly sit up, throw the blankets off my body. My clothes are changed to a cream color simple night gown.
The neat bandages wrapped around my knees decrease my worry just a little as I leave the soft bed and glance around the small but cozy room.
A closet is in the corner. A little distance away from it is a table and two chairs. My eyes land on the wooden crucifix pinned against the wall.
I clear my throat, seeking water as I move my feet towards the door and turn on the door knob before quietly stepping out in a quiet corridor with white curtains all around.
