Jason sits uncomfortably in a metal chair next to a barren wall with Cookie, Coldren, and Jeremy all next to him.
The police station is a very unforgiving place, and being put behind silver bars wasn't making matters any better. Cookie is the first to speak up from the time they arrived.
"I can't believe those assholes locked us in here. It's not like we're the one who shot up the house."
"Cookie stop, this is not the time. Jason's probably still sensitive." Coldren sternly says. This's a new attitude from the bubbly football player, and Jason picks up on it right away.
"Nah, I'm good Coldren. It is kind of messed up that they put us in here though. They even let Natalie go home."
Cookie rolls his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest. Coldren looks over to him with guilt clearly in his eyes. As the time goes by, Jeremy's snores vibrate through the room as he slouched in his chair.
"How long is he going to be out?" Cookie mutters, getting annoyed.
"He drank pretty heavy at the party. I'll be surprised if he woke up before noon tomorrow."
"Let me see my son! Let me see!" The group can faintly hear the voice of a woman just around the corner of the building, and Cookie throws his head back and sighs.
"Hey, isn't that you're mom Cookie?" Coldren asks. The question is soon answered as a middle-aged woman steps into the room with a green suit, short black hair, and hanker chief tied around her neck. She looks like the equivalent of a CEO's assistant, which she probably was.
Once her eyes land on Cookie, she blurts,
"My son! My son, you're alright. Open that cage and let him out now!"
They do just that and she hugs Cookie tightly.
"Oh thank god you're alright. How did this even happen-" She then looks over to Coldren and all the worry had leaked out of her face, replaced with anger. She points a heated finger in his direction and seethes,
"You! It's all because of you! I told you to leave Pierre alone! Now see the trouble you got him in!"
(Of course, his real name isn't Cookie :D )
Jason looks sheepishly between them, not knowing to stay quiet or intervene. As Coldren starts to sink into his chair like a disciplined child, Cookie speaks up.
"Mom it wasn't because of him. Two people came to the house and shot it up. We just got interrogated, that's it."
"Oh right, and you expect me to believe that he wasn't apart of it? This is going to be on your record forever! How are you going to get into a good school?"
"Mrs. Dendard, with all due respect I wouldn't do something like this. I actually went back to the party to get Jason and-"
Before Coldren could finish, Mrs. Dendard cuts him off.
"Oh shut up! I hope you've had your fun with my baby because we're moving out of this stupid place."
"What?" Cookie gasps. His eyes widen as everything seems to slow down.
"What? You think this is surprising? I thought this neighborhood was a good one, but there are still crazy people out there that can take your life in an instant. We're moving in a week, so you better get packing."
The air becomes cold and frigid as Coldren's face expresses panic.
"Mom, you can't. I have my life here! We've moved so many times, I just want to settle. If you want to go, then leave, but I'm staying here."
"Who do you think you're talking to Pierre? Have you forgotten that I'm your mother?"
"First of all, I told you to stop calling me that, it's Cookie now. Second of all, I'm 18, I can do what I want, and I'm staying here."
She stares incredulously at her son, then snaps her attention back to Coldren, as if he had to feel any more guilty.
"See what you've done? You've spoiled my baby's mind!" Jason sinks in his chair as well and cringes from the amount of drama Cookie's mom was causing. Like this could literally be a television show.
"I don't want to ever see you around Pierre again, do you hear me?" She finishes.
"Mom, stop. Seriously. Just leave."
"SHUT UP!" Coldren gets the attention of everyone around him as he sat there, fuming in his chair. He let out a long sigh, brushing his hand over his face.
"I-I'm sorry. It's just that I'm getting nervous."
Mrs. Dendard's face turns into a crimson shade and she's about say something when two other people barge into the room.
"Oh my god! Where's Jeremy?" Roomie yells. She examines the room and finally finds him, running over to him and shaking his shoulders.
Jeremy's Dad, Mr. McCoughlin strides behind her and he bends down next to his son.
Roomie slaps Jeremy's face until his eyes open slowly and he groans.
"Thank god..."
"R-Roomie, what- what are you doing here. Where in the hell am I?" He slurs, looking around him.
His eyes move to Jason and stop there, his icy look like daggers. Man, if looks could kill, Jason would be made into sushi by now.
"We had a call from the police station and they told us there's been a shooting" Jason's Dad explains,
"When I heard you were at the party as well, me and Roomie got here as fast as possible. Are you alright?"
Jeremy gradually nods his head.
Two police officers walk into the room also. Damn, how much people are planning on showing up?
"I would like to know who Jason Fellings is?"One of the cops says.
"That's me."
"We are advised to tell you that 6 people were killed at the time of your party."
"Six?!" He yells, his heart beating faster in his chest. He didn't know what to say other than that.
"Yes, and 4 injured. We would like to know where your parents are so we can discuss this with them."
"They're... They're on vacation. They said they would get back by next week."
"I see, have you already made a phone call to them regarding the event?"
"Yes."
The officer writes down something on a yellow notepad he's holding then looks back up at Jason.
"Remember to remind your parents to come down to the police station to talk about these events. It must be terrible to acknowledge it was their own home where this all started."
"Yeah..." Jason nods his head, but after they leave, he buries face in his hands and groans.
Coldren grabs him by the shoulders and gives him a side hug, hoping that it'll be comforting.
"6 people..." Jason chokes.
"I know man."
"Jeremy, I just wanted to apologize for today. It was stupid of me to run out like that. I mean what if you have gotten shot." Roofie purses her lips then continues.
"I would've never forgiven myself."
"Its whatever, I just want to go home." He says drowsily.
