As Trey walked out of Valerie's hospital room, he couldn't shake off the vivid memory of the pair of brown eyes staring back at him as he approached Mr. Lynn.
“Your daughter needs you now,” Trey said, hoping to mark out Mr. Lynn's reaction when he referred to Valerie as his daughter.
Mr. Lynn, however, was prepared for any attack and responded calmly.
“I will. Thank you for being there for my niece. I know I haven't been the best uncle to her, so you being there for her means a lot to me.”
'He was finally acknowledging the fact that he hadn't been the best uncle to Lisa.' Trey thought as he nodded.
