Rosa pov

Many years ago

Rosa seems to be engrossed with the new recipe that she didn't notice her husband presence.

You are still baking by this time! Her husband Andre,said observing how she was working effortlessly. He brought a handkerchief to wipe her sweats.

Thanks love... I'm working on a new recipe.Rosa said staring endearly at his face.

You know we haven't spend enough time ever since our marriage,you have been to busy. He said.

I'm sorry, I am just trying to make sure I contribute to the family as well you know we are behind the bills and the.landlord may have to kick us out.

I know and I'm working on it, I should be expecting my salary next week ending.He said.

That's good news then...She said as she placed the cupcakes in the oven.

Mr Andre smiled,observing how the wife was working so hard. It hasn't been easy for the family,considering the fact that they have children to feed.

You need to be rewarded for your hardwork my love.He said.

And how,she said her hands on her waist.

He came closer to fill the gasp between them and held her waist tenderly.

The cupcake is on the oven.Rosa said.

I know,we won't waste any time. He cooed in her ears. She wanted to protest but he kissed her feverishly which made her week in the knees.

The room.Rosa said with a little strength.

What are we looking for in the room.He said smirking.

Don't play with me.She said,feeling the heat in her body.

If you insist,he said carrying her like a newly wedded couple to the room.

After a while

Are you not going to check the cupcakes.Andrea asked teasing her.

Rosa glared at him and then hit him on the chest.I can't stand up,you should check it yourself.

You know I can't resist you.He said chuckling before going to the kitchen.

Rosa looked at him before smiling surely this man is a gold to keep.

Flash back ends

My cheeks lit up as I remembered some of the happy moments that I had with him. But unfortunately as they say not all moments last long. Andrea, was a loving man before everything changed.How it happened? To be honest I don't know. Do I feel like a bad mother not telling my children what actually happened to their dad...No!

He played a father figure in their life so it's kind off hard to yell them that their once loving father was know a cold heartless monster...especially Daniella,because she was her dad's favourite.

I know most of you are wondering what really happened but I will tell you when I feel ready to talk cause right now,I'm not emotionally available...

Rosa we need the new batch of cake.

On it! I said wearing my apron before going to the kitchen to make my special"chocolate banana cream pie".

Baking is kind of stressful but also fun because I really learnt it from an early age.

Everyone here loves me,well...I wouldn't say love me but they usually love the pastries that I usually make because according to them,it is yummy! Delicious! Sweet! Mouth watering. Not to brag but I surely know how to make magic in the kitchen. Cooking has been inborn for me because my mom knew how to cook even her mom. I was gifted my great grandma cooking book which contains all the traditional recipes for cooking all continental dishes.

As my mama once said "Cooking is like a creative expression for yourself"

But it's true because cooking makes me less stress.

The only person that is hard to please its my boss.

I went to the fridge to bring out all the ingredients before I started mixing the ingredients like the banana,flour,sugar and cocoa powder before adding my butter to it before preheating my oven.

"This smells nice Rosa!"Suzy,one of the workers said.

"Thank you Suzy".I said washing the bowls that I used.

"It surely will blow the boss mind away."She said rolling her own dough.

I forgot that in here,different set of pastries and food are made so the best are selected and that's why they are a lot of competition amongst ourselves on who will get to the boss good books. The only person excempted is Suzy because she seems cool to be with and she doesn't mind at all.

"What are you making"?I asked.

"Chinese dumpling"! I observed how she diced the cabbage,the meat and pepper like a pro.Her hands were moving so freely to knife as if she was meant for it.

"Great work Chef Suzy". I commented.

"Chef suzy? But I'm not there yet".she said smiling.

"Don't worry,you will soon be there".I said.

"I wish, I have been working here for a long time and the boss haven't even acknowledge my work".She complained.

"Don't worry,they say good things take time so I'm sure that he will definitely see your hand work."

"Thanks Rosa you are such a good adviser."

"No problem Suzy."

"Hey!Can I have a bite of your chocolate banana cream pie."She asked.

"Of course,I made extras just in case anybody wanted more". I said.

"No problem,just make sure to check the oven because the last time I burnt something in the oven it wasn't funny."

"Thanks for the info".I said going to the oven

Daniella pov

"This is the last store we will go I promise".Emily said looking at my stressed face.

I'm currently at the forever 21 store with her and Sarah one of her friend that is in the drama club. I'm not joking when I said we went to three different stores and we didn't see any clothes that was suitable to Emily because they were either to plain,to jumpy or to showy.

"Trust me when I say this is the last store that we are going to". She said with a reassuring smile.

"I can bet you that Emily will go to another Store".Sarah said chuckling.

"No I will not".Emily said.

"Yes,you are I just pity Daniella legs".She said.

"Fine! I will compensate you guys"! How about some Starbucks!

"I like the sound of that ."Sarah said grinning.

"Why won't you,of course you like the sound my card makes after a debit".she fired.

"Anything for Starbucks...she can add a croissants".Sarah said winking.

"Come on Daniella let's go to this clothes section."

"Wait I need your credit card,I'm seriously hungry".sarah said rubbing her stomach.

"We can go after I have chosen my outfit."

"No,you are gonna waste time and by then I would have probably fainted."

"Fine,she said giving her the credit.card. I need some cappuccino". What will you want Daniella she asks facing me.

"I don't know,I haven't tried Starbucks before but anything chocolate and milk will do l". I said.

"Then I will order milk latte with some croissants".She said walking away.

"Don't you dare order the croissants".Emily shouted.

"Watch me".Sarah smug the corner of her lips.

"So how about this clothes."The sales girl said showing Emily another clothes for the tenth time.

"This is a jumpsuit".I need something more enticing,something that screams attention.

"Okay but what's the occasion so that I can choose another set of outfit for you."

"It's a pool party and the attire is white bikini for the girls..."

"So what about this..." the sales girls hasn't even finished her statement when Emily started squealing in delight.

"Yes"!This is exactly what I want.

She breathed a sigh of relief before packing the clothes. Emily paid in cash before we left that section.

"You are so lucky that you saw your choice of clothes earlier on."She said

"Well,let's just call it luck".I said smiling.

"I'm starving by the way,let's go to the cafe.

We both went to Starbucks and we found Sarah in one of the tables,casually sipping her drink

"It took you guys long enough."

"It wasn't anyone fault okay".Emily said having a seat.

"Daniella I bought chocolate milk latte...hope you will like it".She said handling it over to me.

I took a sip and paused.

"...you don't like it...

"No...I mean I like it,it's very nice.I said taking another sip."

Note:I hate it!!!

"Oh,goodness!I thought you didn't like it for a second".

"I think you forgot my own".Emily folded her arms.

"I didn't order yours."

You're joking right!

"No I'm not...you hate your coffee cold so I thought it would be better if you come an order it yourself."Sarah said.

Are you kidding me Sarah?I'm soo hungry after my clothes hunting and now all you could say is...wait,is that some croissants I see in your hands.

"I told you I was hungry... "

"And I told you not to get it"

Is anything the problem ladies.

We all turned to see a cute guy with his apron on. I think he's among the staffs.

"Yes everything's..."

"No is not!Emily said snapping at Sarah before turning to the cute guy. I just need a hot epresso please".

"Okay"! The guy said before leaving.

"I didn't mean it like that".Sarah pouted.

"You literally starved me,I'm so glad that the guy saved my ass."

"Speaking of the guy..."Sarah paused grinning and I chuckled.

"What about him".She asked with a furrowed eyebrow.

"He seems interested in you".Sarah nudged her by the elbow.

"Whatever! I have Darius"! She said beaming.

"Everyone knows that darius is a heart breaker,it won't be a matter of time before he breaks your heart."

"No he's not...right Daniella?

"I don't know?

"Whatever...you are jealous cause you don't have a boyfriend".Emily said with a glare.

"At least its better being single that to be with a flirt and a playboy".She fired.

This was so tense.I had to do something.

"Can we go home please,we have a party to prepare and besides,Emily you need that beauty rest for tomorrow if you know what I mean."

"Yeah...it's true."Emily said walking away.

"I swear,I didn't mean it like that."Sarah said.

I know.

At home

"Mom hasn't come back"?

"Yes sis! She asked me to look after you."

Look after me...what am I... a toddler?

"You're lying. I added

"Not gonna say much,by the way Abuela is asleep so I wouldn't want you to make any noise''.Max said.

"I'm the quite one". I fired

"And I'm the bigger bro". He said smirking.

"It's only with a few minute...it doesn't even count". I said close to anger.

"Little sis, people won't believe that we are twins because look at you...you are short and I'm tall...

"No I'm not...at least I'm reaching your shoulder."

"That's the greatest achievement I have heard so far...so cheers". He said clearly teasing me.I really wanted to yank the stupid smug right off his face.

"By the way,are you coming for the party tommorow".I inquired

"Of course,why wouldn't I come...are you coming."Max asked.

"Yes,I'm coming"!

"Never knew you to be a party type so what's up."

"Nothing...I just felt like I need a change".

"You do really need a change,asin a makeover".

"No,I'm okay with my glasses and braces...I'm keeping this dorky look".

"If you say so lil sis...:

Call me little one more time...I said with gritted teeth.

"Don't take it to heart okay,by the way who invited you.He curiously asked.

It was my friend and you..."

"Also my friend."Max said plobing on the coach.

"Okay...I'm in my room.I said heading upstairs."

"No-one cares. Max said fixing his eyes on the TV."

Hopefully everything goes well at the party
