Remind me that Emily shouldn't be allowed to drive in the upcoming years

"We are finally here..."

"Thank God I really need to come down before you kill me".

"Hey you need to say only good things...besides my friends aren't complaining".

"Then maybe you need to change friends." I said before closing the car door.

"You gotta be careful with the door mirabela..."

"I didn't even slam it that hard..."

"Even though...anyway just a reminder that the party is kinda wild"

"Kinda...how bad" is it I asked confusingly.

She looked at me with pity before patting my shoulders before whisperingi my ears...you will see.

I have never been to a party before so when i say my hands were sweaty i wasnt kidding.Emily knocked a few times before a guy opened the door.We both showed him the tickets before he allowed us inside.

"You wanna know what he said.She said bringing me out of my thought.

"Huh..."

"I mean patrick..."

"Who is patrick".

The guy at the party...he said you are cute...he asked if you are single and I told him you are off limit.

My mouth was hunged opened,maybe for the fact that another guy called me cute or the fact that Emily had to tell him that I was off limit.

"You are welcome".Emily shrugged before we stepped our foot in the party.

Emily wasn't kidding when she said that the party was wild.

We were greeted with loud music the moment we stepped here.

"This is just getting started". Emily yelled.

I looked around and saw many people at the party,most of them their faces were new. My brother will surely have girls surrounding him well me,I will be a loner as I have no one to talk to except for Emily.

I was still in my thought when a tall guy suddenly came behind Emily and cover her eyes.from behind.

"Derrick I know it's you". she said smiling before the boy released her hands.

Darn it,the boy said before taking her lips in. Their kiss seems to be taking forever so I awkwardly coughed.

She broke the kiss and smiled. "Babe! This is daniella"!

"Oh!You must be the newbie everyone is talking about". He said smiling.

"Newbie"?

"Yes! Enjoy the party ladies.He said leaving us".

"Are you thirsty".Emily asked.

"Not really..."

"Come on let's go grab some punch".She said dragging me.

"I'm pretty sure I said that I wasn't thirsty".I said.

"Not buying that excuse...you are going to make some new friends tonight". Emily said taking a shot.

"But..."

'No but mirabela...you need to let loose and get high and most importantly...you also need to finish that".She said staring at my cup.

I drank the punch in one gulp.

"Happy now"?

"Very", she said grinning.

"You came".Dale,the president of the drama club approached us.

"Yeah, we couldn't miss it for anything".

"I'm so glad that you brought you friend along".

"Yea...excuse me for a moment I need to go meet my friends she said leaving me alone.

Dale observedme before asking"You haven't been to a party before."

I looked around to see some bunch of students making out...like seriously eating off their faces,some were vibing to the beat of the music obviously rocking theirs elves. I spotted Emily with some girls dancing and one thing for sure is that I don't belong here.

I wandered a while before sitting down.First of all,I needed to know where Marcus is,I mean he did told me he was coming for the party.

"Omg Daniella...I thought you wouldnt come."Mia said.

"I am here by the wayMia, I love your outfit".

"Thanks girls but yours is more prettier".She complimented.

"Thanks...but do you know where Marcus is".

"Yeah,I saw him at the drink section".Mia shrugged.

"Okay,See you later". I said making my way to the drink section. I got a lot of stares mostly from the girls.Probably because I was need.That's the life of being a nerd.

I finally found him siting at the counter sitting alone.He was backing me so I has to tapped him. He turned around and was suprised at first.

"Seems like you are enjoying your self." I said sitting next to him.

"If you take this as an enjoyment then sadly no".Marcus said raising his drink.

"Is that alcohol". I asked.

"Obviously"! He said looking at me.

"I thought that you don't drink". I said suprised.

"Well,I not a total nerd...there's a lot you don't know about me". He took a short glance at me before sipping his drink.

"I looked at him before looking away".The punch was starting to have an effect on me.

"So,did you bring your earpod".Marcus asked.

"Yes...there are a lot of people in this party and I can't even see him". I said.

"I think I saw him at the pool. He said casually.Are you going to order..."

Normal boring me would have declined but today I shutting from my nerd thought and letting lose like Emily said.

"Sure... I said". Marcus signalled the bartender amd he came.

"What will you order miss"?The bar tender asked giving me a menu.

I took a quick glance and said the first thing I saw there...Uhm some

"Uhm some orange margarita". I said handing it back to him.

"It's on the house". He said handing it over to me.

I took a sip and I must say that it's very refreshing

"Careful there,you don't wanna get tipsy and sabatoge anything."He said plainly.

"I'm not light headed." I fired.

"If you say so". He said before sipping his drink.I could see his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Whatever". I said before gulping all at once.He looked at me but didn't say anything.

"I have already worn the earpod by the way". I said.

"That's good cause I will help you just incase".He said.

"Thank you,but how do I talk to him because I haven't seen him since there are a lot of people.

"First of all,forget about the mission and enjoy yourself". He said as he sipped his drink.

"Uhm...are you sure you are not drunk". I said looking at him.

"No,I'm not!The reason I said so is because you are tensed so you need to enjoy the party before going on this mission.

"Okay...that makes sense".

"Everybody get on the dance floor".The dj said as he changed the music. Like a river by Bishop was played.

"See you later",I said before heading down.

"So you came"! I looked to see Becca and her gang glaring at me.

"I came here like everyone else...is that a problem". I said.

I don't know...what do you think!She said bumping on my shoulder purposely before catwalking with her gang.

Strike one!

"You took so long daniella, I thought you were already making out". Mia said.

"Of course not,why would you think like that".

"Because most people are either making out or having s*x".

"What the..."

"Its a party after all...come on let's dance".

"I'm not sure... "I said.

"At least have a drink with me".She said handing me a drink. I gulped it at once before giving her back the empty cup.

"See ya at the dance floor daniella".She said before going down.

I scanned around and I saw my brother with some girls flocked around him.I'm not suprised. My eyes continued searching until I saw the person I was looking for Zach Leverton. I knew how he looked like apart from the picture that I saw. He was truly handsome as I heard some of my friends say. No wonder becca has a crush on him. Too bad,cause I'm sure that he would reject her with her bad character.

I tapped my earpod on. I have seen the target.

Target! Marcus said on the other line .

I mean him,I'm not gonna call his name so it wouldn't sound obvious.

I did what he said and I felt more relaxed.

I was almost finally there when someone poured the wine on my body.

Linda? I said.

I'm sorry Daniella,I guess I wasn't looking where I was going.She said.

I looked at the stain and it wasn't so bad.

I'm sorry Linda said as I went to the toilet to clean it out. I have successfully cleaned the stain on my clothes when I heard some girls talking.

Did you girls hear the news.One of them said.

I don't know whether it was the effect of the drink or what I heard but my head was banging.

They were whispering but I caught a few words like scandal...custody...criminal. I hid it a corner as the girls left. I went into the bathroom and looked at the mirror.

Something wasn't right! I washed my face again before leaving the toilet. I tried forgetting what the girls said earlier but it was still stucked in my head.

I went outside and it seems the party has taken to a full swing and zach was no longer there darn it. I needed to find him the earlier the better.

"Daniella are you okay". Emily said.

"Yeah,just having a headache".

"Here have a seat." Emily said making me relax in a lounger.

I'm fine Emily,I said standing up.Another music was playing and it looks like a knew the music. I took the.drink that Emily was having and gulped it down.

"Daniella,you are going to get drunk". Her eyes mixed with worry.

I looked at her before laughing."I will not get drunk mom". I said as I made my way to the dance floor.

The effect of the drink was taking a toll one me.

I was always in control but tonight I was wrong it was as if I had no control over my body as allowed my body to move with the rhythm of the music.My body swayed on reflex to the music. The music has a pattern as I danced away all my problems.

People gathered as I continued to dance. I'm not a good dancer but I'm not a bad one anyways. I continued moving my body and swaying my hips against the music after a while it seem like the music had changed.

"That was awesome...Mirabela".Emily said grinning.

"Thanks mily". I said grinning.

"Nice moves you got." a male voice said behind me.I slowly turned around to see Zach Leverton.

"Thank you."I said

"So you wanna grab some drinks". He offered

Say yes but be conscious of how you drink.Marcus said over the pod.

"Yes,I replied as we went together, I looked back to see Emily mouth wide opened.

We sat down on a lounge as we both got our drinks.

He kept drinking as he observed me. I felt intense under his gaze.

So,you drink. I could feel Marcus face palming himself.I think the alcohol is making me to have no filters.

"Casually not all the time. I haven't seen you around here...are you a new student"! His eyes gazing at me.

I kept looking at him as my mind went fuzzy. The alcohol was seriously having a toll on me.

Daniella say something,hint about him helping you once.

Are you okay. He said and I quickly jolted back to my senses.

He squinted his eyes as if he was studying me.

"You look familiar,but thank you for what".His face showing pure confusion.

He was about saying something when someone whispered something in his ears and he stood up.

"Daniella",he said flashing a smile before leaving.

I took the last sip before stumbling into my brother.

Maxy, I said giggling.

He queitly observed me.Are you drunk?

No! I said drinking my cup.

"Thank goodness you are here." Marcus,pls take care of her I'm coming back.He said.

"Just a few drinks and you are already drunk".

"I'm not drunk...ICEMAN" I slurred.

"He tilted his head Iceman"?

I staggered to him being mindful of the way I was walking. "Yes,ice man you areee cold as...Ice,yes Ice". I said hitting his shoulders. I made an attempt to take another drink but he stopped me.

"I wanna drink". I pouted.

"You are clearly drunk daniella", Marcus said.

"But it's just a drink". I said not trying to cry.

"Are you crying".He said

I touched my face and I can feel streaks of tears pouring down my face. But I didn't care all I wanted was my drink

"Give me my drinks". I said crying.

Marcus was clearly enjoying the show.

Party sucks.

"Can you walk"? Marcus asked me.

"Yessss". I took a step and it seems like the world was spinning.

He squatted down in front of me.Climb

I scoffed.I'm not a baby...b..a...b..y. I said walking off before staggering again, I had no choice than climbing his back. He adjusted my properly before walking.

"I dont know where your brother is."

"Parteeeee foe meeeeeeee."

"I should have known you will get drunk,let me try calling your brother".He said bringing out his phone.

He said he's coming.

"You smell good Marcus". I said sniffing his neck.

"You need to stop doing that". He muttered as he continued carrying me.

My eyes felt heavy as I drifted off to sleep.

Next morning

"Daniella wake up".

I opened my eyes to see Emily looking at me.

Do you know what the time is she asked.

"No?

"It's twelve thirty...she added.

I tried getting up but I had a serious headache.

You're having a hangover...

"I know". I said groaning

"Here's some soup that will help prepared...you will come around".

I drank the soup and felt a bit relief.

But daniella you are the talk of the party...

I don't understand...

Here she said giving me her phone. I opened it and gasped.It was a video of me dancing like a zobie to the music and also laughing out loud.

This is so embarrassing I said giving her back the phone.

"If that was embarrassing then trust me the one you did with Marcus was so hilarious." she said laughing.

I tried remembering the events that happened last night but every thing was hazy.

"Did I do something stupid". I said trying to remember.

"I don't know...but his face said otherwise".She said smirking.

I got up from the bed and held her..

"Wait did we...kiss" I said whispering the last part.

"I don't know but you guys seem pretty close when I saw you".

I let out a frustrated sigh as I tried to remember anything.

"I will never drink again". I mumbled.

Sure miss,Emily said with a mischievous smirk. Anyways,Zach came to approach you...

Oh,I think I remembered that part....

"Try and remember while I get you breakfast..."

"What about your younger sister". I asked.

"Well...she followed my parents on a trip,I will be right back."she said leaving the stairs.

I sat on the bed as I tried remembering anything.that I did.And then it hit me;I remembered how Marcus carried be on the back and how wait

You smell good Marcus. I said sniffing his neck.

You need to stop doing that .

I didn't reply him instead I was thinking about what the girls had said earlier.

My emotions superceded my reasoning and I blurted out the first thing in my head.

Do you think my dad left for a reason. I said.

Total silence

I don't know but my dad never said goodbye you know...that's painful. I said slurring each word before total darkness took over me.

I sprang out of the bed as the headache cleared.Did I just tell Marcus about...my dad!s**t! He will think I'm some desperate girl who needs attention.

Emily came to me this.time with a tray that had food. What happened,you seem dumbstruck.

"I am Emily...I said things I'm not supposed to say".

"I feel bad daniella".

"Huh"?

"I shouldn't have told you to drink if i had known that you are a light headed".Emily said with a guilty face.

"Is not your fault that I decided to take it

"But still I feel bad..."

"It's okay...at least I get a high school experience" I said

"Yeah,we are lucky that today is no school day,anyway your food is here". I opened it and started it eating

"Thanks for the food emz".

"No problem mirabela".She said

"I..."

"I know you don't want me to call you Mirabela but it's grown on me ".She said pouting.

I chuckled. "You actually reminded me of sofie..."

"You mean your Mexican best friend."she said frowning.

"Jealousy doesn't suit you". I said

"I'm not jealous."she said with a huff.But I will be glad to meet her.

"Of course you will". I smiled but my mind wandered off to another thing.

Background was dark as a figure came and slide to pick up his phone call.

I did as instructed sir.

The man said nothing as he lit his cigar.His eyes cold and motionless to his surroundings.He looked at the phone call before speaking.

He looked at the window before puffing a smoke from his mouth.
