Double trouble

The silience was settling as we both sat down at the bench that was in the school garden whete the soothing breeze tickled my skin.

Hey!He said finally breaking the silence between us . "So I now it's probably a stupid question to ask... but are you okay."

I sighed as u played with my fingers."To be honest,I don't know."

He picked a pebble threw it and then

stared at me with concern ."I may not know what really happened but I believe that whatever you did to her,she deserves it."

My lips formed a small smile as I glance at him."Thanks,but it seems that her mission is to make me miserable and I guess she succeeded."

Zach eyes narrowed."It seems you know her from somewhere."

I nodded my head and he continued."Becca can be very manipulative sometimes but I know that she has a good heart somewhere."

I scoffed"I wish."

He faceBut hey ever since you came here she has been on your neck hence she is intimidated by you.He spoke sincerely.

I looked at him in confusion."Intimidated,I doubt it she only knows how to act like a victim and make fun of people...talking from experience."

He stared at me for a while and for a moment I got lost staring into his eyes.

"Your eyes are pretty."

"Huh?"

"I said your eyes are pretty.They are like caramel .Do you mind."

"Mind what?"

He didn't say anything but rather came closer,My stomach was in knots probably because of the food that I had before.He carefully removed my glasses.

"You know...without the glasses hasn't been doing you any good."

"Why?"

"Because it has been covering up your caramel coloured eyes."

I looked at him but I couldn't see him well because he was kind of blurry but I could tell that he was smiling.

He gently placed the glass back and patted my hair and whispered

"I will call you later dani."

and with that he put his two hands in his pockets and left.

My face turned crimson .Thank goodness that he wasn't around to see my face.The breeze blowed my hair as I closed my eyes to recap today event. Becca really wants to play the victim,then game on.

I stood infront of the vice principal until he gestured me a seat.

I don't normally do this",he said, adjusting his tie."But I will just let this one slide.

Let it slide...what does that mean?

"I'm sure you are confused but according to your profile you are a good student and you haven't been involved in any scandal like that but still for the sake that I'm in a good mood,you will stay after school for a day dentention."

I was grateful after all. It pays to be a good student.

"That means I can go the the excursion right."

"Yes,as I said before, I'm in a good mood and please don't let this repeat itself again.You do not want to get in trouble with becca."

"Get in trouble?"

"You may leave,your dentention starts today."

"What the heck? He gave you a dentention?!.Emily asked,wide eyes.

'I'm lucky... I guess considering the fact that he kind of let it off with a warning but I'm serving the dentention only for today."

"He really is in a good mood.She muttered."

"That means I will see you for the excursion next tommorow."

"Yeah definitely,you should start going I will see you in school tommorow."

"But I can wait."She whinned.

"Don't worry about me,beside I don't even know when I'm coming home because of dentention."

She hugged me lightly before releasing me. "We don't have any drama rehearsals today and my parents are coming back today...I guess we will see later."

I smiled as I walked to the hall that was now scanty except for some people that were either making out or

I opened a door just to see two student seriously swallowing their faces in the room I guess they didn't hear me but I better leave unless I will get caught for sure.I closed the door and was about leaving when the next statement shocked me.

"I don't know why you are still with her."A girl voice.

"Just give me time babe."

Wait...the second voice,I knew the voice

I knew that I have two options.

First option,open the door like it was a mistake again just to find out if it was who I was thinking

Or second option,just walk away and never find out.

Without thinking,I opened the door and it was who I suspected.

"Hey what is this b***h doing here."The girl glared at me.

"You!" I said looking at him in disbelief.

"Daniella,I can explain."He said.

"No need...you can go on with your make-up session."

I walked out from the room not to long before I heard footsteps catching up to me.

"Please don't tell her."He pleaded.

"Don't tell her,she loves you Derrick. I guess it was a mistake...I gotta go I have my problems to face right now."

I finally went to the detention class as I registered what just happened.Derrick was cheating on Emily with that girl.

"Finally I guess that little miss two goody shoes finally gets a detention."

I looked back to the voice just to see Linda.Incase you have forgotten,Linda is among the mystery club that I just joined.

I ignored her as I sat down in the front seat.I tried reading just to pass out time.I was in the middle of my book when something hit my back. I turned back to see Linda smirking with another stone in her hand .

I stared at her as she placed both of her legs on her chair."What's your problem I asked."

"I thought you were going to remain dumb but I guess I was wrong."

I inwardly rolled my eyes as I scanned around the room just to notice someone sleeping at the end.

"He's a deep sleeper."She said reading my thought.

Normally dentention was supposed to be filled with lousy people either chewing gum or making a hell lot of noise but this is quite the opposite because we are only three here.

"Where's the teacher incharge."I asked.

"He went out."She replied taking a bite in her apple.

"Isn't eating prohibited."

"Unless you wanna follow the law then...yea.She said taking another bite before looking at me.So what did you do smarty?."

"I kind off gotten involved with becca."

She stopped what she was eating and looked at me seriously ."Trust me when I said that you do not want to get involved with her."

"Why?" I asked remembering what the principal said before.

"Because she is a trouble magnet, a two timing b***h who is so manipulative and then acts like a victim.You see the group the howler she emphasize.If you mess with her,you mess with the whole group. They are not what you should joke about."

I would be lying if I said that her information didn't send a little chill down my spine.

"Thanks for the info but why are you also here."

"I'm already the troublemaker here and beside here is the only place that I can be in peace."

"So you purposely get in trouble."

She clicked her tongue."Bingo!"

But does any of the members know.

"You mean Marcus... of course,the fact that I'm a trouble maker doesn't mean that it will interfer with the knowledge I have with computer...by the way,how is your progress?"

I understood what she meant.

"We are friends is just with time before I get to know some details from him."I said.

"Do not fall for him no matter what?"

"Fall? Oh please I won't...but just to be clear...why?"

She pulled a chair beside me."You do not want to get burnt.He is not someone you should get involved with.He's shady and you are too good for him.You will get burnt...Trust me."

"Just do what you were asked to do.Do not get attached to him."She added, relaxing on her chair.

I nodded my head as I thought about the moment that I had with him. Is he as bad as people painted him,well it time I find out.

I will be his friend,gather some info about him.I wouldn't call it using.I mean I'm curious and beside I need becca to see this cause afterall she drew the invisible battle.

But the most important of it all,Do not fall for him.

"By the way,I heard that he plays basketball."

"Yeah,it is always them that it's the heartbreakers."

"I will take mental note."

"Good for you."

I was about saying something when one of the teacher came inside.

"No noise unless I increase your time by an hour."I could see Linda rolling g her eyes before going to her seat.

Maybe I judge her too soon but she's a good person...I think

I arrived home around six I think. I opened the door just to see my mom sitting in the couch.

"Good evening mama."

"Why are you late."She said ignoring my greeting.

"I was given a detention."

So it's true she muttered before looking at me.

I definitely did not expect that.

"Don't call my other name." I said lowly.

"I'm your mother so I call you what I want to call you." She said her voice a little bit louder.

"What's going on Rosa?"Abuela said coming out from the room.

She pointed at me."Your grand child over here has started getting into trouble."

Abuela stared at me."Is it true miho?"

I stayed silent not because I want to but because I didn't want to sat anything at the moment.

"You see what I'm saying...she has finally joined them.Max said that she got into a fight with becca."

I have had enough.I was tired of trying to please everyone.I guess it ends now.

"And did you ask me what really happened." I asked in a low tone.

" And why should I when you beat her up." Mom fired.

I nodded my head as I looked at her.That's exactly your problem, you only listen to max story what about me,maybe that's why dad left.I said.

"Miho?" Abuela gasped.

"You are going to far."Max said coming from the staircase. The image of what becca said ringed in my ears and the fact that my brother defended her made me even more angrier.

"Or am I...I'm just stating the fact."

"Daniella."Max said sternly.

"You know max,you are not the only one disappointed...I'm way more disappointed in you.You believed becca the person that made my childhood miserable over your twin sister."I fired.

"People change daniella incase you don't know,she can't be the same forever."

"Bullshit max bullshit."

"Language daniella."Abuela said.

"I don't care,if other people change definitely not becca.Do you know what she said.She talked about dad in a disrespectful way saying stupidity runs in our blood."I said as I tried not to cry not today.

''But I guess,I should have allowed her to run her mouth saying bullshit about my family while mom will never give me the detail about why dad left."

Mom looked at me dumbstruck. I guess she was shocked that I talked to her like that.

Max on the other hand just stared at me speechlesssly.

"Child!" Abuela tried to calm to situation down but I was far to angry to calm down.

"Go ahead and tell me the truth about dad.This is not the first time that I'm hearing things from a stranger that I don't even know."

"And you think that if she doesn't want to tell you then she won't."Max said finally founding his voice.

"I guess you must have known the reason."I mumbled.

"She's just trying to keep you safe..."

"I don't need to be safe."I yelled, releasing the anger that I held all this while.

"I guess I am really a stranger in this house that I don't know a clue of what really happened to dad."

"Child."Abuela said.

I ignored her and continued. "Maybe I would have been better off if I followed dad..."

A loud thumped followed and I gasped as I looked at the ground.
