"You are still awake...mi ha!" I checked the time, and it was half past one in the midnight.
"I know, Mama."I just feel...
"Anxious!"Abuela said, taking a seat beside me.
"Yes...I said, nodding my head.
"Is it because of tu espouse [your husband]."Abuela asked.
"Yeah... but it isn't like that." I said.
"Come and have a seat beside me, my daughter, "she said, gesturing me.
I don't know why I really love her,maybe because she reminds me of my former self or maybe one of my sisters who I haven't been in contact in a while.As for my husband...
"Are you listening to me, Rosa."My abuela asked me.
"No, ma,"I said in sincerity.
I said, "Why don't you tell your children the full story."Abuela asked as she knitted her yarns.Old habits never die hard.
"I know, Mama,but I don't know,I don't want them to resent their father...
"Look at what you are saying, Rosa.Your excuse is so petty and beside,if they resent him and so what!They need to know what happened between your fath.I nodded in disagreement
"It's better if it stays this way, Mama...I am just doing how a mother would do to protect her children."I explained, looking at her.
"I really hope you know what you are doing, Rosa."Mama said as she stood from her seat gradually,carried her scarf that she was knitting, and exited the room.
She's the only mother that I have for now.Even though she's my former husband mother,I still love her as my own.My mom died when I was little,and as for my dad,I had no idea where he was I the moment;it was as if he disappeared into thin air.

I looked at my room one last time as I heaved a sigh.
This home has a lot of nostalgic memories.I remembered how I won a spelling B competition at the age of five. I looked at the medal that I was wearing in my neck.It was a special moment that I did not want to forget because my family was all present.
I looked around my room one last time and headed downstairs.The atmosphere seemed dull, unlike before.My brother, who seems lively and chatty, wasn't his usual self,he seemed so dull. My mom seems to have a mixed feeling... even Abuela.
"Come on, kids, let's go outside."My mom says,trying to cheer us up.
I came outside and saw Sofie and Max friend Justus.
"So you are really travelling bestie...Sofie said shedding real tears.
"Come on sofie,you are going to make me cry too."I said sniffling.
"I'm sorry... I will really miss you," sofie says hugging me.
Me too!I said already crying I'm really going to miss my bestie.
"You are going to video call me every day unless I'm coming for you."Sofie says in an authoritative voice.I knew sofie wasn't bluffing when she said it.
"Ok, I said, cleaning my tears.
"Let me go talk to your brother."sofie says leaving me.
"Hey Ellie!
"Justus," I mumbled,looking at him.
"I don't even know what to say...I was so sad when I heard that you guys are relocating to America.Don't get me wrong...is not that I hate you guys traveling is just that...I didn't let him to finish his statement when I hugged him.
"I will also miss you... even though we are not that close, Justus.I said as I disengaged from the hug.
"So you are not mad about the frog incident."Justus asked grinning.
"A little bit,but am cool now.
"Come on kids,the driver is here let's start going."Mom said as she was helping the driver to put or luggage at the back of the boot.
"I hope we will see each other next time," Justus said sadly.
"Hey...we will definitely see again."I said assuring him.
It wasn't a lie though.I looked at Max and he seems a little bit more cheerful than before.Sofie really can influence someone mood.
"Don't forget to call me bestie! sofie says waving at me.
"I promise! I said as we all entered the car and zoomed off.
"Seems like someone isn't grumpy "I said elbowing Max.
For now,he said before facing the other side.I looked at the window and smiled.
"Everything will be alright,"I quietly said.
