In the evening joseph had come home and brought a stack of documents that needed his attention urgently. He was immediately informed of the Gunn’s visit by Ashley the housekeeper and was worried the visit may have some adverse effects on her mental well-being but he was informed that she seemed to have really taken it well. He did not feel reassured by Ashley’s words but decided to wait till she woke to see for himself.
