We all stood, looking at each other in silence. Brittany was frozen in her spot, and so was I. Fiona just stood there, looking between the two of us with an uninterested look on her face.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Fiona, who had been missing for so many years, was standing right in front of me.
“Wow,” Brittany finally broke the silence. “Fiona, is that you? I never expected that I'd see you again. What are you doing back here?” she quizzed doing her best to hide the bitterness in her voice.
She walked down the stairs of the front door and walked towards Fiona. She tried hard to hide the look of resentment on her face, but it was pretty obvious.
“I was invited. If I knew that I wasn't needed here, I wouldn't have come,” Fiona said reluctantly.
