Chapter Forty-Six
Damien ran through the claustrophobic corridors of the facility’s sub-levels. Lucia was two paces behind him, boots striking grated metal.
His replacement vest from the aircraft hangar was making his armpits and neck itch. They reached the entrance to the nuclear reaction chamber. The last time he was down here had been about a month ago. The door wasn’t as he remembered it. It was too thick for one grenade to breach.
