The next four weeks at the theater were hectic, as the cast got used to having a new director, and Eleanor got used to being there. True to his word, Jim insisted that his married crew members leave at their usual time. He and Gail worked well into the evenings, while Deanna did her job as the wardrobe mistress on the current show.
Jim did make time for Alan, spending Saturdays and Sundays with him after he got off work at Bannock’s—at least for the first two weekends. The third weekend, Jim went directly to the theater after work both days to put the finishing touches on some of the costumes before final rehearsals began.
