Nine “You really didn’t have to come with me,” I told Jacquie as we pulled up in front of Mrs. Ellery’s house. “My partner needed me. I’m here. Have there been any more attacks?” She replied and climbed out of the passenger seat. “Not that I’ve heard. I’m really hoping that what I did to Kevin is different than what they’re doing now.” “But if it’s not, isn’t that better in a way?” Jacquie let me take the lead up to the front door. “How do you figure?” “If it’s the same thing you did, can’t you just reverse engineer it and undo their spell?” “I don’t know. Gabrielle said that she had to deliver the magic somewhere. Implying it had to be a tangible thing and that means the stolen magic exists somewhere. I can’t just recreate it from the natural magic around us. It wouldn’t be theirs.
