Chapter Two

1506 Words
Six years later. As the car moved, he watched everything through the open car window. The people were busy going about their daily activities. The usual hustle and bustle that could be noticed anywhere. He could barely recognize anything...or anyone. Everything had changed. The buildings, people, everything! He was back. After six long years he had finally come back to this place that he had sworn he would never return to. The place that held so many good memories...and bad ones that had haunted him He sighed. His mind wandered to her as it always did. Would she also be different? Of course she would. He had changed so definitely he wasn't expecting her to remain the same girl he last saw six years ago. She must have changed by now. He closed his eyes and tried to rest before they arrived at the house but she occupied his thoughts. He tried to imagine how she would look like now. All he could see was how she was then. Beautiful. He opened his eyes and sighed again. He couldn't help but feel frustrated. A few minutes later the black Rolls Royce came to a halt in front of a huge mansion. Several guards were positioned at the entrance all decked in black suits. They all stood at attention as the driver stepped out of the car and opened the car door for him to step out. He rolled his eyes. Was there even a need for such frivolous formalities? No matter how many years he had spent surrounded by the luxury and obvious bootlicking, he would never get used to it. He grabbed his phone from the car seat and got out of the car. "Welcome sir!", The guards greeted in unison as though it had been rehearsed before hand. He stared at house for a few seconds taking in the view. It hadn't changed one bit. The huge door that led to the house was swung open and a woman walked out. She walked towards him with slow steps. She stopped just a few steps away from him and stared at him. There was a mixture of emotions evidently displayed in her face. Was it happiness, surprise or nervousness he couldn't tell. "Aaron", she called gently. "Mom" "Welcome home son", she said with a smile. Heaven tried to concentrate on the article she was reading on her but Trish's loud laughter kept distracting her. "Ugh!!!" Whenever Trish was on the phone with that good for nothing boyfriend of hers, she always made her ears bleed. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath trying to calm down. She opened them again and tried to concentrate but Trish's laughter rang even louder than before. Heaven pulled her hair in frustration. She tried to block out the sound by grabbing a pillow and covering her ears but the loud sound penetrated her barricade. Defeated, she grabbed her phone, drew her slippers on and left the room. She went downstairs, sat on the couch and continued her reading. She was preparing for a job interview and she needed all the tips that the internet could possibly provide. She needed to make a good first impression and learn how to be fluent and confident with her answers to questions that the interviewer might ask. And the article she was currently reading, had lots of information about interviews. This wasn't her first job interview. But this one was very important. She had to make sure she got the job. At twenty two, she was interviewing for her third job in a short span of three years. Heaven wasn't a terrible employee so that wasn't what got her fired from her previous jobs. She actually saw herself as the ideal employee which in truth, she was. It was the bosses that were the problem. They were all a bunch of perverts! All they wanted from her was her body and when she vehemently refused their advances, they fired her. Being beautiful sure had it's disadvantages. She was of average height, with straight legs and a natural tanned body. Her black hair was long and shiny and her eyes were honey brown complimenting her oval smooth face. Blessed with an hour glass figure, she made men swoon. This was a body shape that many women could kill for. But for Heaven, she sometimes wondered if she would not have been better off without it. She had tried her best to keep her last job. She had even tried to play along when her boss started acting silly with her. Whenever he winked at her, she acted shy. When he tried to grope her, she tactically escaped. She even went on a couple of dates with him. But it came to the point where she couldn't take it anymore. She slapped him when he tried to kiss her and he was very angry. He had even attempted to force himself on her. The memory still gave her the chills. She had had terrible experiences with men. What they wanted from her was s*x. And when she didn't give it to them, they tossed her aside and went for the women who could give them what they wanted. They didn't care about her feelings. They didn't bother about her. None of them cared. Except him. Heaven's mind wandered. How long had it been since she saw him? Four, five...six years! It had been six years. She wondered how he was now. Did he even remember her anymore? He must have forgotten about her right? "BOO!" Heaven jerked in shock and her phone fell on the floor with a not so soft thud. "Trish!!! Are you crazy!", She yelled when she regained her composure. "Ha ha ha", Trish burst into laughter as she sat down beside her. "You should have seen your face girl", Trish said still laughing. She had snuck up on her in a rather clumsy manner and found it very amusing that Heaven hadn't caught her prank. "It's not funny Trish. I swear you made my heart stop", Heaven said while bending down to pick her phone up and inspecting it for scratches. "Oh stop being dramatic Heaven", Trish's laughter lowered to a giggle. Heaven hissed and placed her phone on the table. "I left the room for you and your boyfriend and you followed me here" "Oh come on. You're just jealous", Trish said jokingly and Heaven chuckled. "Jealous? I could have ten boyfriends if I want!" "I bet you can which explains why you've not been in a real relationship before" "What do you mean real relationship. I just like to explore", Heaven defended. "Oh wow Dora the explorer. Your relationships barely last two weeks", Trish said smirking. "That's because all the guys I've been with were all assholes" "Yeah I'll side with you on that. Come to think of it, the only guy you ever lasted with was..." "Trish!", Heaven warned knowing what she was going to say. Trish paused and looked at Heaven's angry face and she immediately realized what she had been about to say. "I'm sorry I didn't realize I was...", Trish started to apologize. "It's fine", Heaven dismissed and picked her phone up. She got up. "Heaven I'm sorry I didn't even think about what I was saying", Trish pleaded. "I'm going out. Don't wait up for me" "Heaven don't do that", Trish called but Heaven was already walking out the door. Trish sighed. Why the hell couldn't she control her big mouth. Heaven walked slowly. Her earphones were plugged in and she had her hands in her hoodie pockets. People walked past her without even so much as a glance. Not that she wanted attention. Some peace and quiet was exactly what she needed at the moment. She walked towards the public park and found a free bench to sit. She unplugged her earphones and watched the kids as they played around. She smiled. A couple walked past her holding hands and looking really affectionate. Her smile slowly fell and she felt a sudden pain in her heart as her eyes fell on their intertwined hands. She sighed and tore her eyes off the couple. She turned on her phone and the day's date written on the screen captured her attention. Today made it six years since he left. Six years since she left him in the rain after breaking up with him in the most painful unimaginable way. She was only sixteen then and had done what she felt was right for her. But she had been regretting it more than ever lately and her every thought was about him. She bent her head and sobbed quietly. She was in pain. And she knew no one would understand. By the time she finally got herself together, it was dark and the park was almost empty. She got up and started walking home. He invaded her thoughts once again. She sighed. "Is this the way you're going to punish me? It's cruel".
