The sudden influx of sunlight, after hours of oppressive darkness, was almost blinding. Col blinked, his eyes adjusting to the brightness, and surveyed the cavern. The goblins, their green skin and glowing eyes ill-suited for daylight, had vanished into the shadows, their chattering cries fading into the distance. The shattered wall revealed a narrow passage, leading out into the open air. A gust of fresh, cool wind swept through the cavern, carrying with it the scent of pine trees and damp earth.
