Kai's POV:
Hours later with our blood running through her veins, she calmed down a little. But that didn’t last long, as soon as he injected her with the gene concoction, she started burning up and screaming with pain.
At one point the pain was so bad that she sat up, her fever burning eyes staring straight at me. She fell back on her pillow uttering one word “Kai”
The guilt was overwhelming, this was all my fault I put her through this. I took her burning hand in mine and started to cry, holding her hand to my face.
I stayed with her through the night, my mom and Michail, sitting with me.
Her fevered dreams and pain continued through the night, by morning she looked really sick, almost dead. Her skin had turned a shade of grey and she was drenched in sweat.
