Chapter 6: A Forbidden Desire

1567 Words
Lucas’s POV Lucas stood at the edge of his estate, staring out into the dense forest that surrounded his mansion. The ancient trees whispered secrets of the past, their branches swaying gently in the evening breeze. He had felt a shift in the air, a sense of unease that he couldn’t quite shake. He knew Valerius was gathering strength, but what troubled him more was the knowledge that Vivienne was still in the dark about many things, including her own latent powers. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. He needed to assemble the rest of the angels, his old allies. They were scattered across the world, living under assumed identities, just as he had been. But first, he had to protect Vivienne from the imminent danger. He walked back to the mansion, determination etched on his face. He had to find a way to tell Vivienne about her powers and the role she would play in the coming battle. But how could he do that without overwhelming her? The bond they shared was growing stronger, and he didn’t want to lose her trust. Lucas decided to head to work, hoping the familiar routine would help clear his mind. His presence at the office was always a source of excitement for his female employees. They admired him openly, their crushes evident in the way they blushed and whispered whenever he walked by. Lucas was aware of their feelings, but his heart belonged to Vivienne, even if she didn't fully realize the depth of their connection yet. Vivienne’s POV Vivienne walked into her office, her mind still reeling from the revelations Lucas had shared with her. She had spent the night tossing and turning, her dreams filled with images of a past she couldn’t fully remember. As she settled at her desk, she glanced at the new employee, Victor Blackwood. He was charming and charismatic, with a magnetic presence that seemed to draw everyone in. Victor had joined the company recently, and Vivienne found herself drawn to him in a way she couldn’t explain. There was something familiar about him, something that tugged at the edges of her memory. “Good morning, Vivienne,” Victor said, his voice smooth and deep. “Good morning, Victor,” she replied, smiling. “How are you settling in?” “Quite well, thank you,” he said, his eyes locking onto hers. “I must say, it’s a pleasure working here.” Vivienne felt a blush creep up her cheeks. There was an intensity in his gaze that made her heart race. She quickly turned her attention back to her work, trying to focus. As the day went on, she found herself glancing at Victor more often than she should. There was a mystery about him, something that intrigued her. She shook her head, trying to push the thoughts away. She had Lucas, and she couldn’t afford to be distracted. Victor’s POV Victor watched Vivienne from across the office, a smirk playing on his lips. He had managed to escape the curse that had imprisoned him for centuries, and now he was back with a vengeance. Lucas would pay for what he had done, but first, Victor had a different target in mind: Vivienne. “My name is not just Victor Blackwood,” he thought to himself. “In ancient times, I was known as Valerius.” He had known her in their past lives, but he had never been able to possess her. This time, things would be different. He would have her, and he would make Lucas suffer in the process. Victor leaned back in his chair, his mind filled with images of Vivienne. He imagined her beneath him, her body arching as he thrust into her. He could almost feel her skin, soft and warm, as he claimed her. The thought sent a thrill of anticipation through him. He had to be patient. Winning Vivienne’s heart was just the first step. He needed to gain her trust, make her believe that he was her ally. And then, when the time was right, he would take what he wanted. Vivienne’s POV As the days passed, Vivienne found herself spending more time with Victor. They would often chat during lunch breaks, and she discovered that he was not only charming but also incredibly intelligent. She enjoyed their conversations, and she couldn’t deny the growing attraction she felt towards him. One afternoon, Victor invited her to a small café near their office. As they sat down with their coffees, Vivienne felt a sense of ease she hadn’t experienced in a while. “You’ve been very kind to me, Vivienne,” Victor said, his eyes sincere. “I appreciate it more than you know.” “It’s nothing,” she replied, smiling. “You’re a great addition to the team.” Victor reached across the table, his hand brushing against hers. “I’m glad you think so.” Vivienne felt her heart flutter. There was something about Victor that made her feel alive, but she couldn’t forget about Lucas. She was torn between the two men, each offering something different. Lucas’s POV Lucas knew he had to act quickly. He couldn’t afford to lose Vivienne to the darkness that was approaching. He made a list of the angels he needed to contact, his mind racing with plans. There was Evelyn, his fiercely protective sister; James, his rebellious younger brother; and Ethan, his loyal best friend and business partner. They had all played crucial roles in the past, and they would be needed again. As he worked, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was amiss. He had to find a way to tell Vivienne about her powers and the danger they were facing. But how? He decided to start with a simple conversation. He would explain their history in more detail, hoping that it would help her understand. He picked up his phone and dialed her number, his heart pounding. “Vivienne, it’s Lucas,” he said when she answered. “I need to talk to you. Can you come over tonight?” “Of course,” she replied. “I’ll be there.” Victor’s POV Victor watched Vivienne leave the office, a plan forming in his mind. He had noticed the way she looked at him, the way her cheeks flushed when he spoke to her. She was falling for him, just as he had hoped. He would use this to his advantage. He would make her his, and in doing so, he would strike a blow against Lucas. He imagined the look on Lucas’s face when he found out, the pain and betrayal that would cut through him. It was a delicious thought. Victor stood and followed Vivienne out of the office, keeping his distance. He would make his move soon, but for now, he needed to remain patient. The game was just beginning, and he intended to play it well. Vivienne’s POV Vivienne arrived at Lucas’s mansion, her heart heavy with conflicting emotions. She had been drawn to Victor in a way she couldn’t explain, but she knew she couldn’t betray Lucas. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Lucas opened it almost immediately, his eyes filled with a mix of relief and concern. “Vivienne, come in,” he said, stepping aside to let her pass. They walked to his study, the room where so many secrets had been revealed. Lucas gestured for her to sit, and he took a seat across from her. “Vivienne, there’s something I need to tell you,” he began. “You have powers, abilities that you’ve yet to discover. They’re a part of who you are, a part of our shared history.” Vivienne’s eyes widened. “Powers? What do you mean?” Lucas explained their past lives in more detail, telling her about the angels and their roles in the battle against Valerius. He spoke of her abilities as a seer and healer, powers that had been dormant in this life but were beginning to awaken. “I didn’t want to overwhelm you,” he said gently. “But with Valerius’s return, we need to unlock your potential. You’re not alone in this, Vivienne. We’re in this together.” Vivienne felt a surge of emotions: fear, excitement, confusion. “Lucas, I don’t know if I can do this.” “You can,” he assured her, reaching out to take her hand. “I believe in you.” They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of the situation settling over them. Vivienne felt a sense of determination rising within her. She had to embrace her destiny, no matter how daunting it seemed. Victor’s POV Victor watched from the shadows, a sinister smile curling his lips. He had followed Vivienne to Lucas’s mansion, using his powers to remain unseen. He had heard everything, and it only fueled his desire. Vivienne was more powerful than she realized, and he intended to exploit that. He imagined her beneath him, her powers surging as he claimed her. The thought made his blood race. He would have her, and he would destroy Lucas in the process. The game was set, and he was ready to make his move. Victor slipped away into the night, his mind filled with dark fantasies. The time was coming, and he would be ready.
