Chapter Ten Sheena, driving back to Paris, was thankful that the two children were so tired after their day in the country that they snuggled against her half-asleep and she was free to think her own thoughts. They returned, not in Lucien’s Bentley that they had come in, but in the big Embassy car with its uniformed chauffeur and dividing glass between the passengers at the back and the front seat. The sun was sinking in all the glory and splendour of golden light and red-flecked clouds, but Sheena saw none of it, intent only on her own reflections.
