Before I could ask what he meant, a grey wolf appeared on the other side of Lucien. I could only assume it was Caden.
“Has she tried to turn?” Lucien asked as the younger wolf eyeballed me warily. He wasn’t fond of my presence. Was that because he was hoping to win Jadea’s affections somehow? Was it jealousy? Or was it something to do with what Lucien hadn’t gotten to explain yet?
“Yes, but she was unsuccessful. She’s overthinking it, like usual,” Caden reported indifferently, his gaze returning to Jadea. “Why is he here?” He asked, sounding bored. I had to wonder how I was able to be involved in their telepathic conversation.
