After their conversation, Lana had become even more low-spirited. She was angry with Hayden. She was upset and found his passive, introverted behaviour quite immature. On the other hand, though, she knew him very well and could predict his overreaction to anything that was a threat to their idyll. She was sure he had been shocked by their first, real conflict together as a married couple. By now, she had also realized she had said yes to her participation in the mission too soon, and hadn’t even given her husband a chance to share his opinion.
