Before she would be on her way to Masters & Co, she called her parents. It was only their gentleness and great tactfulness that kept them from calling her, but Lana had suspected they couldn’t wait to hear from her. She tried to tell Katie in brief, and as if possible, without any tears what had happened since their first encounter at noon, the day before. She also mentioned their plan to visit Nottinghamshire and promised to keep them posted about the state of things. With some laughter, she entitled her mother to pass the good news on to Robert.
