‘I…,’ Lana started, but the elderly woman interrupted her. ‘No, Lana! Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining,’ she shook her head, while the tissue in her right hand had turned into a wrinkled, wet ball. ‘Whatever happened, I can only thank myself for that. I was a bad mother, that’s the truth, there’s no point in making it sound better. I have to face the consequences of my actions, sad as they may seem.
